INTRODUCTION
Designing Your Life
There are many self-help books and teachers who tell how you mentally and spiritually get better alone, in the now with simple steps to follow. Most are based on positive thinking and some form of treatment where you use words to ask for what you want and you then get what the words say, sometimes a little misunderstood because words are not fully clear descriptors. All of these books and methods are good and you make short-term progress, but we live in a world with other people, so our self-help can be distracted and confused by others surviving
and fighting for their place in the world. Unless you decide to be a hermit or religious monk, you must be connected to others and to a bigger group picture than just your picture, not just self-help improvement. You need your picture of the future and you need to weave your picture into the whole pictures from other people. You can choose up together and get higher and higher futures together.
Beyond self-help you should 1) create focus on a grand visual picture of your future, 2) share and connect with others and the infinite as you evolve to your picture (connected to society vision), 3) make joyful choices to achieve your vision, and 4) point to more and more pictures giving you more and more joyful choices.
Your connected life grows when you go outward and see your perfect future. I call this perfect future the Pointing After (PA) or experidigms. And, you share your PA future with others who care and you move forward with all available and infinite choices for your future. You are not a hermit, just thinking of yourself, but connected to all. You grow from connections and acquire infinite choices and experiences. You do not have to hide, fear or excommunicate yourself from the world to receive your joy. You need to create and connect to your PA to receive infinite choices and joy. If you have people intentionally blocking you from your future, I describe how you deflect these people away in my book "Soaring to Awesome – Turd Throwers Beware".
How do you as an individual, or as a group, or as a company, or as a school create your PA and connect? It really is simple, and we describe the ease of doing in this book. You create a PA, make your choices to progress, connect with others, do, and create more PAs and keep doing to higher levels, reaching toward the infinite. Core to human nature is to picture your future and make choices to get there—it is built into the seed of your DNA just like a seed grows to a tree. Sure, it might look like there are bumps in the road (bad people stopping you), sometimes mountains (armies of bad people), but in any case, you still have choices, and you adjust your PA, and you see over and climb over the obstacles to infinite choices. The infinite choices are always there no matter what you believe your current circumstances are. Point up to your future. Choose up. Attain joy and share joy.
For groups, companies and governments, the same is true with regard to business or group self-help books. They normally focus on fixing a part, which is ok, but fixing parts may be short term, and more important is the process to create the whole PA experience for the customer or the company or group. All the approaches in this book apply equally well to individual people, groups of people, companies, and governments.
I have lived the observations in this book. My own story is a story of continually visualizing the future and making choices and finding connections and joy along the way. I started with the society PA of being a doctor and fell in love with chemistry research and creation. Then that took me to choose business and be a corporate innovator and technologist, leading to many more PAs. No mountain is too tall, so I choose to become an entrepreneur PA, then a consultant advising on how to make all-at-once PAs. Along the way, I connected with many experts and caring souls, and I experienced many intentionally distracting and limiting people, but I learned that PAs and connected choice can lead you to joy, no matter how this world looks now.
PART 1:
Life Starts As Blank Puzzle
Filling Life In
As a baby, life starts as a clean slate. Our body functions without us thinking about it, so we wander and use our senses to explore, and feel, and learn to learn and think. We can choose to continue in this baby-like state, or we can learn to explore and grow. This is a simple decision, a choice. Hopefully, you make the choice to learn and grow very early in life. Some never choose to learn and just stop learning, and be like an animal, surviving each day.
To grow beyond a baby state, life is really like selecting a puzzle where you have selected the picture on the puzzle box you will build. You choose the pieces of the puzzle, and then fit them together into your picture. You change the picture as you choose, based on your experiences, and you get more puzzle pieces and thus more experiences. Your puzzle picture can be your desired future, full of meaning and knowledge and joy. Few choose a hateful and joyless future (although some let this happen).
On the cover of my book "Soaring to Awesome," I have a black and white puzzle evolving from left to right into a full blown color puzzle (see total black and white version above). A PA evolves from a simple black and white component and parts world into a color, whole picture action world. I show simple part components of an airplane, the glass, the metal, and the fuel, and these are put together to make the color PA of the airplane experience. These simple components make up the airplane experience. An individual and their connected team, with a PA visualization of flying, were able to make the choice to build an airplane and soar. Life is like this puzzle evolution. You picture the color future, in this case a flying plane, and you put together the black and white component parts to make the colored plane PA experience. In this case, someone did that for you, so you just need to buy the ticket to fly in an airplane. PAs build on other PAs, and that is the story of the human race. So you can stand on the shoulders of history and build your PA experience.
On the other hand, you can choose not to make a puzzle picture and keep your original baby automatic functioning picture only and live an entire life like an animal. The choice of growth is yours to make. Whenever you stop adding to your puzzle picture growth stops.
Many people might say, I do not know how to make a picture or make choices. So, I stay in my simple picture of life, only changing as society or the status quo shows me how to change a part. I change when someone shows me that the change will not have any fear or stress associated with change and moving to the unknown. I let others do it first.
So, you feel comfortable living other peoples’ lives. Living your own life is best.
In this book I show you how to make the choices for your exact picture, the exact experiences you would like to change into. In Chapter 7, we show you how to uniquely use visuals to picture and see a future experience. For now, understanding the before-after
experience is helpful.
The before
is your current experience at any given moment, including mental, physical, and spiritual. You accept how you are now and want to continue that both in part and in whole. Your now
is like both a snapshot picture and a living video that just stays the same or is very similar day after day. This is neither good nor bad. When you decide to change the before,
you have initiated the understanding of the after,
your picture of the new experience in part and in whole. When you picture your new experience and show your new experience to others, you begin to attract and focus on this experience from the infinite choices around you. To get started, you first need to visualize your future experience and get that visualization on paper (and on the computer) to share with others, so they can participate in your visual. Some say you should use words to describe your future, but as we show later, words create a duality world where you attract both good and bad, and defined words become too limiting for your future pictures. The act of coming into existence is when you begin to see your choices for the future you envision and you select from these choices, and progress to the visual. Your growth process toward your future visualization is as simple as pointing to your visual and choosing the selections along the way. I call this future visual representation the Pointing After
(PA) experience or an
