I was pleased to be asked by Real Readers to review another Leigh Russell crime novel Blood Axe. This came just in time for a weekend away and I read this in one sitting. This is another DI Ian Peterson novel, so for fans eagerly awaiting this new novel they will not be disappointed. This has just been published. The story is set in York- unusual for a crime novel yet so apt. The scene is set on the river Ouse there is a missing axe and of course some brutal murders. The author writes a great story, with interesting characters, dead or alive. I was totally immersed and could not put this book down - this was a real page turner and I had to race to get to the end of the book to find out who the killer was.Another great novel from this author, this I am sure will go into the top ten.
