About this ebook

Requiem For Eden - Season 1: Episode 6. The Daywalker

A Bitesize 1-hour read

The Genie has taken Lady Bony Ass and her baby and disappeared into the bottle. Anella is accidently volunteered to save them, but to do so she must face the Soul Eater and the spirits of the demons killed by the Guardians, and they’re a bit cross about being dead.

For a young knight it is a impossible fight, alone and outnumbered hundreds to one. At last, Lucid’s plan seems to be working and soon the baby will be in the hands of the Red Dragon and lost.

Woe, Sita and Tanwa race against time to find a way to rescue them, but it is hopeless. Gabriel’s wisdom and experience would be invaluable. But he’s gone fishing and left them to it.

Separated by an impassable portal to the genie’s domain, there is nothing they can do but watch. And wait for the end.

    The Daywalker

Anella snatched up the genie’s bottle and pulled at the glass stopper with her fingers, then with her teeth, but it was stuck forever.

Woe took it from her. Man’s work.

He pulled at the stopper with his fingers, then with his teeth. A bit of a repeat performance, with the same result.

    Not man’s work, then.

It’s stuck, he said, and shook the bottle.

Don’t do that, idiot, Anella shouted, and snatched the bottle back. You’ll shake everybody up.

Woe frowned and stared at the bottle being held upside down. Bony Ass and the baby are in there.

She waited for several seconds and then sighed heavily. I was here, remember?

Sita and Tanwa joined them, attracted by the urgency of their voices, and by the sudden disappearance of their charges. Going home early was on the cards. Tuesday. Pizza night.

Where’s Bony Ass? Sita said, still staring at the bottle. Isn’t that one of those genie bottles?

Have you seen one before? Anella asked, looking up hopefully.

    Yeah. I’ve seen two.

That’s great. How do we open it?

Sita shrugged. How would I know?

You said you’ve seen them before, Anella said.

Sita pointed at the tent. Yeah, over there. Pretty girl had them.

Anella wasn’t a violent person, usually.

Sita hopped away on one leg, the other having been the recipient of Anella’s boot.

Lady Amara and the baby are in there? Tanwa said, leaning closer to try to see through the dark glass.

Yes, Anella said, watching him through narrowed eyes. If you say you’ve seen one before…

No, never seen one. He smiled.

The difference between Tanwa and Sita, Anella thought, was Tanwa’s eyes sparkled when he smiled, and a dimple appeared in his cheek. And then there was—

Somebody will have to go in and get them back, he said casually.

Ah, Woe said. Want to try to get the top off? We’ve tried and all we got was sore teeth.

The smile again. Anella watched his eyes light up, turning a regular heart-stoppingly handsome face into something extraordinary. A boy—a man—like that walked into your life only once in a lifetime, in a dozen lifetimes. If she was ever going—

Who’s going in, then? he said.

Hey, eagle eye, Woe said, apparently not being overwhelmed by his rarity, the stopper’s still in.

Tanwa glanced at him, then ignored him. Woe could’ve been offended, but he barely noticed. Most people ignored him.

I can move you from here to there easy, he said, with a little shrug.

A bit arrogant. Ah, but confidence was the aura of the truly beautiful. Anella decided to let it—

    Alright then, smart-ass, Woe
