I was very close to both of my parents who were my best friends, and I have lost count of the number of happy times we shared, and all of the creativity and laughter. Like my beloved father Joe, my mother Margaret was so special, and my total inspiration. I would therefore like to dedicate this book to their memory.

Introduction
The Galactic Council continued to monitor the events unfolding on Earth with dismay, as they grew increasingly worried about the rebel reptilian threat. Finally, they had received word from their liaison, and alarm had quickly spread around the delegates at the latest ruling Council meeting.
It looked as though they were preparing for a major assault, and had amassed not only a large fleet of ships, but they had also engineered some biological weapons too. If that was not bad enough, they had also been able to develop a pathogen which when unleashed, would have devastating consequences. It could change DNA, mutating the victims into a hybrid reptilian subspecies, thus creating an army from the ranks of the Council’s own forces.
Something drastic had to be done, and so an elaborate plan was devised utilising technology acquired from the Orillion Star System. Grave misgivings had always arisen whenever the subject of interfering with the space time continuum had been broached, although the old idiom of desperate times calling for desperate measures seemed wholly appropriate on this occasion.
It was agreed that the best way of stopping the rebels was to finally set humanity free. Another secret agent had now been recruited, and all hope rested on this one individual. If he was to be successful, then he could rid the Council of the reptilian threat, but if he were to fail, then it looked as though the Galactic Council would surely fall…

A dusting of light snow blew across the road sending another blast of arctic air rushing over the tarmac. It almost felt sharp enough to cut the wire mesh of the perimeter fence, which surrounded the film studio, as the two tour coaches waited patiently outside the main gates. It was mid February, and an unusually cold one at that. Everyone onboard shivered as the heating struggled to repel the relentless cold which had even penetrated the interior, forming a thin layer of ice on the inside of the glass.
It had already been a bit of an exhausting journey from the nearest town, and the collection of tourists who had come to see one of the film sets used in the Mars hoax cover up were growing impatient. It felt as though they had already been waiting for what had seemed like an eternity, and there was a groan from the passengers as two security men appeared from the nearby gatehouse.
Security nationwide was at an unprecedented level, as the authorities continued to clamp down. Strict new laws had been introduced in an attempt to filter out any lasting thought that there was any truth in the existence of the Galactic Council. Anyone who had had contact with any part of this short-lived experience had been threatened with a whole host of extreme measures designed to bring an end to the whole affair.
The media had run a series of documentaries designed to prove once and for all that it had definitely been a hoax. After all, any of these so-called aliens looked very human, which was a deliberate ploy employed by the Galactic Council which had seriously backfired. They had not wanted to alarm anyone, keeping the more bizarre species from human contact. This had played right into the hands of the rebel led authorities who were proving to be a much cleverer adversary than originally thought.
The door of the lead coach suddenly swung open with a blast of cold morning air, making all those inside shiver even more. A security guard then entered, standing at the front as his curt voice rang out, startling the passengers.
Security check. Please have your I.D. cards ready.
There was a groan from the passengers, as they just wished to get inside the main building and out of the relentless cold. This winter had been particularly harsh, with a cold snap that seemed to have lasted for weeks.
There had already been a security check before they boarded, and they were getting fed up with it all. Security was getting increasingly invasive, with every citizen being issued with identity cards. Failure to produce one when requested automatically resulted in a fine and the possibility of imprisonment. What had once been a free society, had quickly turned into something more akin to a police state.
The security man started checked the cards of those nearest the door, and began to work his way slowly towards the rear. It was not certain whether this was just a random check, or that he was looking for someone in particular. The so called dissidents, had been rounded up and placed in detention centres, where they were processed, with any potential troublemakers being weeded out. It was a concerted effort on behalf of the authorities to make sure that there was no contact with the Galactic Council.
A climate of fear rippled through society almost as cold as the air which now flowed into the
