About this ebook
With one ring of the phone, Lisa Jefferson went from being GTE Airfone supervisor, suburban wife, and mother to being the listening ear to a nation shattered by tragedy. Called tells the gripping account of 9/11 from her vantage point. She recalls the moment she when took the call from Todd Beamer on United Airlines Flight 93, and when she heard the immortal words, "Let's Roll.” She remembers the way that her life was transformed vividly when she responded to the call. Jefferson sends a stirring challenge to all of us--whether it comes during quiet obscurity or international adversity, we must be prepared to answer God's call.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It wasn't Lisa Jefferson on the phone with Todd Beamer that fateful day in September, it was I, or so I felt as I read this firsthand account of conversation between Beamer and Jefferson via Airfone. I possessed her body, I felt her anguish, and her determination to appear calm as she tried to collect as much information as possible about what was happening aboard Flight 93. I lived those horrible moments of her life as if they were my moments. However, while she remained calm and professional, at least on the outside, my tears flowed freely knowing the outcome before she did on that day.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I dedicate this book to God, because through Him all things are possible. I also thank my husband Warren and our children, Lonye’ and Warren II, for keeping me focused on what is truly important. I am grateful for the comfort you gave me during the stressful periods, and for never leaving my side.
I am also thankful for my mother and my late father, Bettie and Donald, for their unconditional support and love that inspires me to be the best person I can be every day.
Thanks to my mother-in-law Minnie and to Lizzie (Big Momma), for your endless support and continuous inspiration, and for keeping me mindful of Proverbs 3:5–6. To my sister and brother De’Brina and Lance Sr., I can’t thank you
