    Minnesota River.

It was time for death to visit again.

Already praying for the heathen souls O’Connell?

Jones, I am already praying for yours. I said.

And how is that going for you?

I fiddled with my hat and stretched my tense back muscles, Don’t think God is listening.

He snorted a quick laugh and spat his tobacco towards the ground. He was a large man. Broad shoulders, tall as a horse. God stopped listening a long time ago.

I shook my head, God did not stop listening Jones. He just decided to ignore some prayers.

The vicious killers riding under the banner of God and justice and liberty or the barbaric heathen people I were supposed to minister? I hated the thought. It made me question the fabric of my faith. It all went with the cross and everyday it became harder to believe in goodness, love and redemption when shaded by the shadow of death. Death and Life. Liberty and Mercy. God and Satan. The constant battle
