About this ebook
The Time Machine is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, published in 1895. Wells is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposely and selectively forwards or backwards in time. The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle (Also see "the anacronopete").The Time Machine has since been adapted into three feature films of the same name, as well as two television versions, and a large number of comic book adaptations. It has also indirectly inspired many more works of fiction in many media.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Quick, action-packed read. For a classic, it's eschews the dryness of some 19th-century stories. This is more along the lines of Verne or Melville.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I tried reading the book, but it dragged on so much. I couldn't get into it. I got half way through and I just couldn't finish. Years later I watched the 1970's version of The Time Machine, and I really enjoyed it. Although I discovered I really didn't miss much from where I had left off in the book. I guess his writing just isn't my style.
