      That first beep indicating someone needs a ride is going to startle you - perhaps alarmingly so. And you may give a small start each time you hear it, but don’t be scared, it’s the sound of money calling your name!

      That Darn GPS!

      Always have a backup GPS plan if you don’t want to drive in circles trying to get to a fare - and remember, they can see you driving in those circles.

      Just because Uber gets you to the client doesn’t mean it will get you where the client wants to go. Sometimes the GPS map just stops talking after the initial instruction.

      ****

      Fake it until you make it. Play it off. If your GPS isn’t behaving properly, try and have a general understanding of your city so that you can move forward with confidence until it kicks back in. It’s awkward to just stop and wait, and it will probably make the client late. That in turn will…You guessed it! Lower your rating.
