    Prolog

What happens when you piss off your client?

What happens when you disrespect your owner?

    They punish you.

    They enjoy hearing you scream.

What happens when you rise from the dead?

What happens when you turn the tables on your tormentors?

They must suffer the punishment she suffered.

They must scream ones of their own.

They must die as they planned to do to her.

    Chapter One

Ohhh, how pretty. she said, lying on the blanket looking up at the dark sky, momentarily filled with colored sparkling light as fireworks exploded.

There were starbursts, screamers, boomers and something she liked to call ‘spermies’. The ‘spermies’ were small white stars, leaving a small tail that wiggled across the sky. She called them ‘spermies’ because they reminded her of male sperm seeking an egg to implant.

There were plenty of eggs in the sky to seek in the form of huge starbursts. Starbursts exploding out in all directions changing colors as they lit up the sky before dying a quick death. When exploding, they would spread outward and rain downward giving the impression of the night stars falling out of the sky. Then there were those that left long twisting tails climbing into the night before dying in a brief nova.

There were roman candles shooting straight up from the ground or cone shapes getting taller and wider the longer they burned. There were boomers producing shock wave concussions that hit her in the chest. The pounding against her chest from the boomers was at the same time, fun and scary.

Jul, look at that one! Jolene exclaimed to her girlfriend lying next to her. Their parents were nearby though the two girls ignored their presence. Nearly the same age, they were just coming into the age where they were discovering their independence. They had finished middle school and high school loomed in the fall. They were both determined to enjoy their summer vacation.

Jolene and Julie were tight. They met in first grade and had been friends ever since. They did everything together. Among their classmates, they were often referred to as ‘JJ’. The two girls would call themselves ‘Jol’ and ‘Jul’ so it became natural for others to use the shortened version when referring to the two of them.

Julie returned her attention back to her friend. She’d been distracted by the boy standing nearby. Julie was starting to notice boys. Jolene discovered boys some time ago and lost her virginity soon after. Julie was still playing catch up as usual though she didn’t care. According to Jolene, boys were overrated. Julie decided long ago to let it all happen as nature dictated. She had no desire to leave
