Science reveals new healthy diet plans almost daily and Paleo is the new buzz word. Paleo is all about following the diet of your ancestors. It is also known as Stone Age, warrior, or caveman diet because it consists of eating animals and plants like our ancestors did 10,000 years ago.
The reasoning behind eating what our ancestors used to eat is that our bodies are designed to eat like our Paleolithic ancestors. Today it is accepted as a diet that includes balanced nutrients, promote a healthier lifestyle, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Some of the major benefits of following a Paleo diet are healthy immune system, improved health, mental clarity, enhanced energy levels, and weight loss.
Paleo is a balanced diet, loaded with nutrients. Being on Paleo diet does not mean that you can no longer enjoy delicious food. To make the job easier for you we have compiled for you some of the most delicious and easy to cook Paleo dishes. Appetizers
Greek Salad
Servings: 36 bites
Nutritional information: Calories 25, Total Fat 5g, Protein g4, Carbohydrates 5g
Ingredients:
1. Grape potatoes 1 can
2. Olives 36
3. Mint leaves 1 bunch
4. Feta cheese 1 chunk
5. Cucumbers 2
6. Toothpicks
Directions
1. Take cucumber and cut them in slices.
2. Place the slices on a plate. They will serve as base for the salad.
3. Chop feta cheese in squares and place each piece on a cucumber slice.
4. Take a mint leaf, fold it and pass a toothpick through it.
5. Place an olive in the same toothpick.
6. Add sliced cheese and cucumber.
7. Place a grape tomato on top.
8. Your Greek salad is now ready to serve.
Tasty Watermelon Bites
Servings: 8 to 10
Nutritional information: Calories 150, Total Fat 20g, Protein 5g, Carbohydrates 4g
Ingredients
1. Chopped tomatoes 2
2. Salt to taste
3. Chopped cilantro 1 cup
4. Juice of three lemons
5. Chopped and seeded jalapeno 1
6. Minced garlic 1 clove
7. Chopped red onion ½
8. Watermelon 1
Directions
1. Slice watermelon in 8 to 10 circular slices and then cut each slice into quarters.
2. The watermelon pieces should be triangular.
3. Take a medium sized mixing bowl and add avocado. Use a fork to smash them until half chunky and half smooth.
4. Add salt, cilantro, lemon juice, jalapeno, garlic, and red onion.
5. Mix well until well incorporated.
6. Add
