      I'm always fascinated to read a story where in the face of irrefutable evidence people still refuse to believe the obvious facts there are vampires and werewolves.

      I enjoyed the book. Took me awhile because I don't have an ebook reader & can only sit staring at a monitor for so long. lol. But yes it was a very good book.

      The Geek Job was not wonderful. It took me about 4 or 5 chapters before I started to enjoy it and I wouldn't read it again. I was expecting more of a romance novel, not an erotica novel. I haven't read any of Eve Langlais' work before. Perhaps these characters have been introduced in other novels or her shifter/vampire world has been explained better elsewhere. She doesn't do the best job explaining what groups of fantasy characters are "real" and what part of the lore is real for each group of characters. For example, we don't find out that vampire's saliva has a coagulant until someone is bleeding and a vampire licks the person's wounds clean. And, I'm still not sure if wolves can change at will or only just at the full moon. (I think only the full moon). Are there other kinds shifters? These questions aren't necessary for the plot, but it would help make the world more cohesive. It seems like she doesn't mention these things until it's convenient for her plot. Because of this, her world doesn't become real to me. Heck, it's not even just the fantasy element she doesn't explain. The main character wakes up in her own apartment at one point and I don't know if we are even still in Vegas or not! The personalities of her characters are cookie cutter. Bad girl wolf, geek who wishes he wasn't so awkward. There are few plot twists in the book. I for one didn't see the twist in chapter 6 coming. Almost everything else though? Pretty unimaginative and typical. What this book lacks in plot, it makes up for with sex. Lots and lots of steamy sex. In spades. The first sex scene might have taken place in the first chapter, but I can't remember for sure. The sex talk is crude, but the sex itself is pretty vanilla. I'd to categorize this as soft core erotica, if I may since I can't imagine it would offend anyone (who reads romance novels or erotica) with its sex scenes. If you're in the mood for an easy, mindless read with sex scences galore, this would be one of the first I would recommend. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for that when I read this book.

      The Geek Job by Eve Langlais A female werewolf bodyguard is hired to protect the geek scientist. She’ll keep him busy and protected, even if that means sex in the shower, sex in the hallway or sex in the office. Probably close to erotica but only because of the volume. Nothing kinky or BDSM related. The werewolf just has a very healthy appetite!It’s entertaining when the geek finds out that other species exist and he decides to experiment. Narrator (Tracy Marks): every sentence ended in a breathy sigh on the downswing. Not a favorite. A bit better at a higher speed but only marginally.

      This was a rather fun book with some hot sex. I liked both characters for different reasons. I’m a pretty big fan of kick-ass heroines – a description that fits Lexie perfectly – and I loved Anthony.

      I really enjoyed watching Anthony slowly gain confidence in himself and his powers of attraction and I enjoyed the relationship that developed between Lexie and Anthony. What I absolutely hated – while still enjoying Lexie as the science slut - was the deception that the relationship started with. I felt that Lexie should have told Anthony that he was in danger and that she was there to protect him. Lexie should have also had to do a little more groveling. If a man had perpetuated the same deception that Lexie did, it would have been handled as a bigger transgression.

      The ending felt a tad contrived while still being somewhat believable. All in all, it was a short but fun read.

      I think it’s safe to call me a fan of Eve Langlais. I own a decent amount of her work and – even though she originally annoyed the crap out of me by writing such short novellas that her characters and/or stories would never develop to full potential – have plans to buy much more. I can certainly say that the length of her books seem to slowly get longer while the voice that originally intrigued me has stayed fresh. :)

      With that being said, the book is cute, a little funny, kinda sexy and I think you should read it – if you like erotic romance, that is. ;)

      Four stars, rounded up from three and a ½!
