      Premise

      This book was born after a long study on possible developments that, to date, can be expected considering both technological and organizational elements of the Western world, and other elements, the more targeted at the development of the individual, tradition, the latter, of the East world.

      His birth and dissemination in a difficult moment for the global economy (not yet released by the negative impact of 2009 financial year of economic crisis at the global level) is aimed to propose new models and new points of view that, if developed , may suggest different ways of living our relationship with others, with the, today, so-called public world, with the so-called private world, with ourselves.

      Who has the patience to read this book will discover that certain claims, quite normal for us today, such as:

      I accompanied the children to school;

      I have to prepare my tax return;

      I go out for a job interview;

      I go to town hall to get my identity card;

      I go to that hip store to see if I can buy a dress that I like;

      I go to vote;

      will no longer have meaning in the future, but may we, and those who come after us, continue to educate own children, to contribute to the payment of taxes (drastically reduced), to work actively contributing to the development of companies, to be recognizable as citizens, to continue to be consumers and to influence decisions in common.. However, new statements will born, useful to describe new aspects of reality, as environments full of different goods, such as supermarkets, that won’t sell, but where people who work there, however, earn, or mixed public and private work activities , and so on.

      A comparison with the past and today's world: a song of fifty years ago in Italy declaimed, I take a pen and continue the accounts, do a spot of ink, my fingers tremble at that time quite understandable and obvious but ... who now manages the accounts with pen and ink? How many children dip a pen into a bottle of ink?

      After this preamble I must specify a warning to the reader: it’s possible that to read certain ideas, certain assumptions it can give him the temptation to discard them for unlikely or impossible.

      I should note that the same attitude was held against me and others, by some people when, in his time in the early '90s, we had talked about the possibility of distance learning, electronic payment of taxes, the possibility of make payments from home, all solutions now not only possible but, in some cases even required (see the fees for companies in Italy) at the time of writing this book.

      I also remember that there were people deemed strange and viewed with concern because they injected small doses of toxic substances in the human body, and today we have vaccines, others who wanted to fly thanks transport heavier than air, and today we have aircraft industry ....

      The world is full of such examples, but still, when someone suggests innovative solutions that are unrealistic for many, these solutions are not believed possible, and so it may be an attitude of disbelief in this book.

      I therefore ask the reader the courage to come out of his own patterns of thought, to see the world with other models, try to think differently, as does a Westerner when he tries to see the human body not as studied in school but as a combination of meridians and acupuncture points, as the Chinese do.

      The concept above emphasizes that this book, as will be described later, is basically addressed to the Western world.

      It is also emphasized that the entire book presents innovative ideas, but points to a positive use of what is proposed, as defined in note . ¹

      ¹ What is Positive? For some it is a good thing to have expanded the sale of drugs, not having been discovered in the face of a crime, have got huge profits in a more or less legitimate way. This is not the meaning of positive in this book. Positive means the ability to be able to improve both physically and mentally and economically in a world where freely chosen rules are shared, respecting the environment (natural and social) in which you live.

      The Pillars

      Obviously, if you want to find new solutions you must however analyze which elements are available today and how you can mix with each other, some of these items are basic and, in analogy with the world of building construction, we will call them the pillars.

      What are the main pillars on which it is based and where we want to reach (see Figure 1)?

      There are three main pillars that will be able to achieve the objectives outlined in this book.

      These pillars are the information and communication technologies, which this book mainly refers to, regulatory issues related to organizations, products and services, (heritage of the West, in the sense that they were born there) and some aspects of the eastern arts, such as the spirit and philosophy of martial arts.

      Throughout the book we will try to make clear these links.

      Where are we getting at? At a New City in which the statements declared in Premise, will no longer be valid, those, to be clear, absolutely normal for us today; I will call this New City NTC (New Telematic City), the book tends to illustrate some aspects of how will be the life in this NTC, as we will be able to build it and how will be its relations with the surrounding world. It will also explain why NTC, not just Telematic City. I especially emphasize the role of information and communication technologies, without which surely a NTC not only couldn’t born but could not even be conceivable.

      I remember that already Ettighofer (see bibliography) said, in 1993, without even knowing INTERNET, the NTIC (the acronym of New Technologies for Information and Communication) would be the third order (it is interesting for those who want to deepen, go and read what were for him the first and second considering the wars in recent years and the international financial crisis of 2008 - 2009). However I tend to remind the reader that not everything will be solved with the three pillars, we must also have a house and especially we must keep in mind that ... the loaves do not travel (yet) on the INTERNET.
