Introduzione
I poeti lavorano di notte
quando il tempo non urge su di loro,
quando tace il rumore della folla
e termina il linciaggio delle ore.
I poeti lavorano nel buio
come falchi notturni od usignoli
dal dolcissimo canto
e temono di offendere Iddio.
Ma i poeti, nel loro silenzio
fanno ben più rumore
di una dorata cupola di stelle.

I poeti scrivono di notte. Quando il silenzio abbraccia le strade e le case per dare voce a coloro che, con occhi grandi, vegliano i sentieri della vita.
I poeti attraversano la polvere e il Soffio, la morte e la vita, l’oro e la Luce, il fuoco e la Risurrezione, il blu e il Rosso, le mani e gli occhi grandi. Ecco il tempo del mio scrivere dove c’è l’impossibile pretesa e attesa che il finito sia Eterno e l’Eterno nel finito. Strappare, così, all’impero della morte ogni piccolo e semplice gesto di vita che penetrato dall’Amore non morirà mai. L’amore rimane e rimane in eterno.Nel frattempo, il Porfirogenito copre con la rossa porpora ogni uomo, investendolo della sua regalità e dalla croce s’ode il battito d’ali dell’Araba Fenice.
