Double Standards and the Commercialization of Christ

About this ebook
It seems that everywhere you look there is a sense of a valueless ideology that has taken over the minds of man-kind, throughout society. Just watch the programming on television, the advertisements, the main stream media, the clothing that people choose to wear or not wear, in some cases, the music they engross themselves with, the electronic addiction, the reality abased culture, the “if it feels good do it” stalwarts (definition, by outstanding strength and vigor of body, mind, or spirit), the nomenclature or labeling that has invaded society, the so called leaders and their reed like spines and you will witness the mental illness known as liberalism. I know many are wondering the same thing. Ask this question to your friends, family, teachers, preachers, elected officials, “what has become of my country, my countrymen?” and you will be met with an empty stare. However ask someone who has not had the same freedoms, which we have come to take for granted and see what they say. If they came from a place where there is no room for a double standard (definition; set of principles that applies differently and usually more rigorously to one group of people or circumstances than to another) because their very individual existence was at stake, very quickly they will tout how superior their homeland, their people, their nation or their culture is to that of America. While there might not be agreement as to why we or they feel this way it’s quite possible that they recognize that we are a nation adrift. Our culture is sinking and we are taking on water so fast there might not be a way to right the ship. Perhaps in their arrogance they are actually trying to wake us up? Could it be that deep down we all know that there is something just not right in the evolution of humanity? “We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed.” Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV

Double Standards and the Commercialization of Christ - Sheri Combs Lantz
Double Standards and the Commercialization of Christ
By Sheri Combs Lantz, Author of Gods’ Solution to the Fiscal Cliff and how a Biblical Jubilee can Fix our Economic Woes
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything. You got to be your own man, not puppet on a string. Kenny Rogers, The Gambler
First of all let me state that I am as guilty as the rest of the planet, with my willful ignorance of Biblical truths. I grew up in the conundrum (definition, a riddle whose answer is or involves a pun: a question or problem having only a conjectural answer; an intricate and difficult problem) of the 20th and 21st centuries. I have failed to live up the expectations of the Universe, as well as those of my family, my friends and my peers.
I am very thankful that I will not be judged by my fellow humans, as I am sure that I have un-knowingly hurt someone who played a part in my life, in some form or fashion, without even being consciously aware of my words that may have inflicted a mortal wound to their soul, and for that I am truly sorry. I know, thankfully and humbly that I will be judged by the Creator of the entire Universe, who knows all, sees all, who during the manifestation and walk on earth, witnessed first hand the plight of mankind. I believe that our hearts will show our truth. I can truly say that all of my actions can be attributed to the nine degrees of separation that exists in the Universe and those who have touched my life.
‘..The Lord seeth not as a man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7b
We can never underestimate the power of those placed in our path, some of whom will unwittingly drive us down the wrong path, or how the prayers of others without our knowledge, easily contributed to our inherent intellect, and eventually changed us into new creatures in Christ. I chose to do my best to follow the teachings of the Bible, mainly the teachings of Jesus Christ later in life but I know there were people whose path I crossed that were praying for my salvation, even before I left the womb.
You see as a child, I was told over and over again that God was punishing
me! For what I never knew, but I grew to hate God, without truly knowing God. It seems to me that we choose to ignore a personal and knowable universe, and it only requires that we seek the answers for ourselves. Why have we traded a slew of un-vetted postulations (definition assume or claim as true, existent, or necessary) today? Why do we go about our merry way without seeking the answers for ourselves of ascertainable, historical, and archeologically proven truths? We should never forget that there was a warning given by God to mankind and that is:
"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:19
Herein lies the dichotomy (definition, division into two especially mutually exclusive or contradictory groups or entities; also: the process or practice of making such a division) that we will all face, on our own individual paths. The path we choose will be the narrative that is told about us, by our children to our grand-children. It only takes a millisecond to
