      The Biography

      Introduction

      Harry Styles is many fans’ favourite member of one direction. With his good looks, charm and vibrant personality it is no surprise that he is a key reason that 1D have had so much success in almost every country across the world.

      Growing up

      The Early Years

      Harry was born Harry Edward Styles on the 1st February 1994. His mother (Anne) and father (Des) sadly split up when he was just seven, leaving him and his sister distraught. Harry has said that despite having a reputation as a strong and pragmatic child, he did cry when his parents divorced.

      Harry grew up in Cheshire in a village called Holmes Chapel. The village is close to Manchester, famous in England as an exciting city, and one where many famous bands have hailed from - Oasis, Joy Division and Take That to name just three. Although briefly moving away when his parents split, the family (including his older sister Gemma) did move back when Anne chose to re-marry. Harry was happy - not only was he returning to his roots, but also he was pleased that his mother had found someone she truly loved.

      Love of Music

      Harry’s parents played a great deal of music when he was growing up, and this variety gave him a wonderful and eclectic range of tastes.

      Two of the world’s most successful acts were high on Harry’s agenda in the form of Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Elvis is still to this day regarded as the king of Rock’n’Roll, and The Beatles will always be remembered for the amazing songwriting skills of Lennon and McCartney (and
