The Mind in Disease: Some Conditions Cured by Suggestion, Fourth Impression emphasizes that a hopeful mental outlook can do much to improve a patient's condition in disease, whether the disease itself is physical or mental. This book stresses that the mind is a factor in disease and acts sometimes by virtue of willpower or at other times by virtue of the imagination. By combining imagination and willpower, suggestion can be developed to cure many diseases. The topics discussed include the relationship between patient and doctor in suggestion treatment; physical pain, and how suggestion acts in the relief of it; chronic constipation cured by an impression made on the mind; and depression in a German prisoners of war camp, 1915. This publication is suitable for psychiatrists and medical practitioners interested in suggestion treatment.
