- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book was poorly written. It looks like it has some interesting ideas, but it could have used a heavy round of proofreading. I'm not sure that the author is a native English speaker. I couldn't make it past the first 10 pages because of all the poorly constructed sentences that really didn't even make sense.

Introduction
Exactly what is Introversion? There’s the typical misconception that they’re just shy and insecure which is a big fallacy.
Introverts are not necessarily timid. Shy individuals are worried or anxious or self-aware in social settings; Introverts usually are not Introverts and are likewise not misanthropic. Instead, Introverts are folks who find the company of others tiring. Extroverts are energized by their company in contrast, who almost wilt or fade when alone.
Introversion and Extroversion are really just expressions of energy/recharging and exhaustion. One situation is invigorating for another, while it has exactly the opposite effect on the other.
Leave an outgoing personality type alone for 2 minutes and he will most likely grab his cell phone out of sheer boredom.
In my own experience the formula is approximately 30 minutes alone to recharge for every hour of mingling. As harsh as it may sound, yes being with company is just exhausting for an Introvert! It isn't actually an indicator of depression in the sense that it does not call for treatment. It’s just that Introverts need to be alone no different from sleep is regenerative and how we feel nourished when we eat.
Our motto: you're okay but only in tiny doses.
The terms introversion came from the work of Carl Jung and later ended up being one of the main parts of his 5 principles of Personality. The Introversion-extraversion dimension is also one of the 4 divisions recognized by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
According to Jung’s model of personality, every person has some degree of both introversion as well as extraversion. Individuals commonly often lean one way or the other.
