"This is just about the best advice I ever heard - especially for we females who were raised to value security over success and to believe that a LADY spotlights the achievements of others while remaining modestly in the background. This particular lady has faced numerous hardships in her life, but found out that she needed all her strength and self-confidence to survive the jungle that is modern self-publishing. I suspect that most people who buy this book are already fans of Ms. Butfield’s popular books about her years of living first in Australia, then in France. I recently acquired her TWO DOGS AND A SUITCASE but hadn't read it yet and was into this book before I made the connection. So I wasn’t a fan before, but I am now. She writes with such humor and skill and enthusiasm that I can’t wait to get started on her other books. Having fallen into self-publishing and learned a great deal by trial-and-error, she generously shares her wisdom with other writers facing the same daunting task. I’m NOT an author (and never will be) but I love reading Indie authors and her story of how she found her way through the minefields is fascinating to me.
