Journey in a Vision - Nicola Jackson-Vaughan
Chapter 1
A Journey in a Vision of Hell
I am a strong believer in GOD, in life after death, heaven and hell, and good and evil. As to the latter, it is all around us and cannot be denied. Nevertheless, the believers will overcome this evil in the end.
I had a vision one night where I was walking with my husband, mother, and my two sons. My youngest son began to run across a field, and I ran after him for fear that he got too far away. Stretching out my hand, I caught him by the back of the shirt and stopped him from going further, but up ahead I saw a dry field with little life. I heard a soft distinct voice say, Stop. Do not proceed any further. Look down.
I held my son’s shirt and retreated a bit backwards. When I looked to the ground, I saw something unusual. A thin red line ran across the field, a clear dividing line that separated me from that dead patch of field. It was like someone had marked their territory. My mother and my husband finally caught up with me, but I wasn’t going to move. I was still in awe of the line.
I heard a voice suddenly speak, The boy is mine because he is on my property.
I looked up to see where the sound of voice was coming from and saw a man sitting on the porch of a big stone house.
He was dressed in ancient biblical garments of dark cloth—black perhaps or grayish…perhaps navy blue. He sat sideways with one hand across his lap. When he stood up, he held the skirt of his robes up lest they touch the ground. I felt a bit strange. I could tell that I was experiencing an out of body experience
—for lack of a better term. The house hadn’t been there just a moment before. I was sure of it. The man held out his hand and said, Hand the boy over and get off my property. He is now mine.
The strange man looked to be floating in mid-air. He came closer, but not too close. My mind screamed warnings to me, for this man looked deceptive, tricky even. His eyes were very small, glistening and piercing as he stared at me. He didn’t blink or take his eyes off me. The seriousness of his look told me he meant business, that he wanted my son.
I said to him, The boy didn’t come on your property.
Yes he did,
the man replied sternly. Give him to me.
No. He is my son.
I hesitated, knowing that this argument was going nowhere.
Another voice, this time from behind me, said, Hey there.
I turned slightly to see who it was, but not so far that I couldn’t keep an eye on the robed man. I didn’t trust him, for in my spirit, I knew this man was the devil. Another man stood on a mountain dressed in a full white gown with one foot in front of the other. He leaned on a walking staff. I wouldn’t bother arguing with him,
he said. You won’t win.
I looked back at the dark robed man and saw he had retreated back to his original spot on the porch. His look wasn’t pleasant. Clearly, he knew who the newcomer was and he didn’t like him. I glanced at the ground again that divided the field. My son didn’t touch the line. He came close to it, but he didn’t cross it.
The line was invisible. I made it so. You couldn’t have seen it!
the devil argued, having come no closer. I figured the second man was still standing behind me. He then yelled with a very loud but stern voice, Get off my property—you and your rude kid!
I was startled for I didn’t expect him to yell so loud, but I was never afraid. I kept my eyes on him the entire time. My spirit warned me not to take my eyes off him or turn my back on him either. I knew I had to stand my ground and show no fear.
He realized I had seen the red line in front of me, and I knew I was right in my declarations. I felt the presence of the man behind me and it must have had an effect for the devil hung his head in defeat, and dared not challenge the person behind me.
I swung around to face the man in white. He said, Meet me on this mountain in thirteen minutes.
He looked at the sun, and it turned into a clock. I stared in awe at the sun turned clock. How can this be? He smiled and urged, Start now! Hurry! Meet me on this mountain, and don’t be late or else you won’t find me.
I shook my head, trying to clear my head from such an amazing sight and saw that he had already nearly disappeared over the other side of the mountain. His cloak billowed out behind him in the wind and his voice echoed off the mountains as he continued to urge me on.
As I turned to follow, my son in tow, I almost bumped into my husband. My mother and older son stood near him. I had totally forgotten that they were with me. Their puzzled looks convinced me that they had not seen what had just happened—that I had been bargaining
