      Have you ever thought on the decisive factor that God uses to determine whether our request is eligible for an approval? God has a standard of judgment before answering our prayer. Otherwise all our desires should have been granted. Sometimes we add fasting and financial sacrifices in an attempt to make our request eligible for a divine approval. King Solomon offered a thousand burnt offering and the Lord was moved by it. In 1Kings 3: 4 - 5 the bible testifies that; …the king went and sacrificed a thousand burnt offerings. That night the LORD appeared to him in a dream, and said, What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!" The factor that moved God to give Solomon an open check was not the amount of burnt offerings. A thousand cattle at just one hill side belong to God. So what was the factor that made the Almighty paid a mere mortal such an overnight visitation.

      As a pastor, when I pray for a particular request for a long time and no change seems to come, I may want to qualify the prayer with a financial sacrifice. To be polite, I will tell the person concern to sow a seed of faith or add one more day of total fasting. Sometimes the desired result is not still achieved. This experience has given me the understanding that God has a decisive factor to every request we make in prayer. When we meet up with the decisive factor, anything we ask from God will be granted.
