    A PLEASANT TRIP TO THE SEASIDE

    Mr. Chang handed me a large pile of papers and advised on where to find the best fish and chip shop in town as he jokingly chided me for neglecting to bring my bucket and spade. I was off to Dover Detention Centre, which as luck would have it, was situated in the lovely Kent countryside sporting choppy seas and a view of the English Channel from the famous grass topped white cliffs.

    He explained this client was ‘at the end of the line’ and about to leave ‘the last stop’ but to see if there was anything I could do. I was to get myself over to Charing Cross station and get the next train down to the seaside ASAP.

    The London air came breezing smoothly as I gently passed through the main door of the office onto Bayswater Road. As anyone who works in an office knows there is nothing better than leaving early, especially when you have barely had time to open your computer. It gives this feeling of relaxation, having escaped the unknown weight of rigorous activities awaiting you, kissing sweet goodbye to the office for a day with a plan to just have yourself a cool day.

    I walked down the road and the air tasted good. I was already thinking of what snack to get at the station for my hour long journey down to see the sea. Isn’t it capital to feel the strong wind on your face through a train window, belly topped up with some garnished snacks?
