Thank you Samira Nuriyeva! This book is very informative and interactive with the intrinsic nature of our multidimensional aspects and their sensitivities, as well as how to realize and strengthen them. I would definitely recommend for beginners and even intermediate practitioners like myself! Hell I'd even go as far as to say advanced practitioners! Your years of experience is priceless and I hope it has filled up your tiny heart with pure joy. Thank you again. This book is a rare gem among the common approaches to lucid dreaming.

Introduction

There are many pop books out there on the market which profess to each people how to lucid dream, and from book to book the techniques are generally the same: reality testing, dream journaling, self-hypnotic suggestions, etc. Beyond these, there is very little new information, and much less actual scholarship.

Yet, lucid dreaming is an ancient art and has likely been practiced since the days humanity first became self-aware. As Carl Jung pointed out, the mythologies of the various tribes and religions of the world all followed a similar pattern, and many of these characters and dramas mirror those encountered in the dream state. Even more, ancient cultures—and some modern ones with an ancient heritage—all had members of their society who were skilled in the arts today commonly known as Shamanism. Part of Shamanism was the so-called vision-quest, or magical flight where one exteriorized from the body and visited other worlds. These are mentioned not only in more archaic and tribal societies, but also among the Greeks, the Persians, Hindus and Buddhists, as well as among the Taoists of China. From reading a number of these accounts, I have concluded that the experiences described in no way differ from lucid dreams, astral projection and out of body experiences. And, yet, many authors and researchers go on as if lucid dreaming were a modern invention.

This book is a new approach to lucid dreaming—albeit a practical one, rather than a scholastic one. It attempts to give an understanding of what lucid dreaming is through utilization of ancient concepts as well as to describe some of the more spiritual aspects of lucid dreaming. In addition, I have included a comprehensive program of various techniques which will aid and facilitate dream recall and lucid dreaming—many of which you have likely not encountered before. In this book I will be primarily be explaining lucid dreaming through the the ancient metaphysical system of Vedanta. Vedanta is an ancient Hindu tradition which encompasses cosmic truth in a systematized form, and explains reality in terms of our mind state. Learning its inner metaphysical truth not only aids your comprehension of what is occurring in lucid dreaming, but allows you to delve deeper into its mysteries—and beyond—for there was much ground tread by the ancients that we have forgotten in the modern day.

In truth, lucid dreaming is not merely a form of entertainment: it is a spiritual exercise, as well. It can serve as a portal or window to a far wider spectrum of reality than what you have formerly known. By learning it and becoming proficient at it, not only will you establish a deeper sense of your self and capacities, but you can also peel away the various layers surrounding your true Self. The ancients derived much of their metaphysical knowledge from dreaming—and lucid dreaming in particular—as well as through meditation. And such knowledge is real knowledge. It is not the kind of knowledge you gleans from merely reading books and taking the ideas outlined in them as your own. It is a visceral, palpable knowledge—a knowledge of certainty. In this respect, lucid dreaming holds out all the promise of a genuine spiritual discipline, allowing you to dive into the depths of yourself and resurface a changed and better being.

I begin this book with a section on the cosmology and metaphysics of lucid dreaming. This is the more theoretical part of the book, and if you are interested in practice first I recommend you skip and go to sections two and three, returning to section one when you're done. If you're already a lucid dreamer and do not need any advice on how to either induce or reinforce lucidity but wish to understand lucid dreaming from a more spiritual standpoint, you can skip section three.

This book is the culmination of ten years of practice and research, and I hope you find it as enjoyable to read as it was to write. Yet, even more importantly, I hope you find it beneficial. Whatever the case, keep dreaming.

The Cosmology of Lucid Dreaming

Everything is Consciousness

Our normal perception of the world is divided into two complementary aspects: mind and matter. In a metaphysical sense, one often reads of this as spirit and flesh, or the soul and its existences. Yet, when we consider the notion of matter deeply we will find that we have no concept of matter aside from the various qualities of matter. Were it not for sight, sound, smelling, taste and touch, we would not have a concept of the material world at all. What, then, is the material world to us? Whether one believes it is a truly objective reality independent of our minds or not, the fact remains that we know nothing of the material world aside from what we perceive of it through the mind. But the mind, as a perceiver, does not perceive directly. When we see a visual image, it is not an exact replica of a truly existing material thing. Science, for example, has shown that their are are myriad spectrums
