      I strongly recommend this book for anyone into home brewing who has ever considered turning pro, as well as for anyone with an interest in local history. It is a series of stories about Maine's many successful brewers, complete with descriptions of their unique products and how they brought them to market.For the rest of us, it's great to have on a coffee table, for leafing through and learning about the inner workings of Maine's expanding beer business and the family tree of the ale you just finished. Be warned, however, that every page of this book will make you thirsty.

      A brief look into the history of Maine craft brewing that also has profiles on all the modern breweries. This is a great guide for people who are new to the area and looking for an overview of each brewery's focus and themes. The writing is accessible and informative. You can tell the author is passionate about Maine and the beer created therein.Although many breweries have come on the scene since this book was published, the information still holds good for the breweries covered, and it really gives you a sense of the development of the industry.
