      Dear Fantasy Island Staff,

      I saw your ad in a novel I read and couldn’t get it out of my mind. I need to tell you a little bit about myself so you’ll understand the nature of my request. On the job, I’m the reliable employee who always gets called in to fix other employees’ mess. At home, I make all the decisions. Not because I want to but because whenever I ask my husband his opinion on anything, he defers to me. When we were dating, I thought it was sweet. Now? Not so much. Don’t get me wrong. I love my husband and can’t imagine my life without him in it. However, just once, I’d like for everything not to depend upon me.

      This brings me to the nature of my fantasy. For one weekend, I’d like not to be in charge. In fact, relinquishing all control sounds wonderful. I’m not talking rape. That’s just sick.       Chapter One

      Janice was the last to exit the seaplane onto the floating dock. Standing to the side with her suitcase at her feet, she hugged herself, feeling miserable. The other vacationers she’d arrived with were chatting rapidly, barely able to contain their excitement. She, too, should be giddy with joy and grinning hugely because she was here, on Fantasy Island, where her fantasy would soon begin.

      Their host, a well-tanned man garbed in a loose white linen two-piece, met them on the shore. In a crisp British accent, he said, Welcome to Fantasy Island.

      Behind him stood several other men dressed in colorful island prints and women in flowing skirts with leis on their arms.
