Healthy Cooking Recipes Introduction
For many years people have been turning to the gym, personal trainers, and even insane dieting plans in the hopes of losing some of that excess weight. Weight tends to get in the way of our hopes and dreams whether we want a meaningful relationship or a career in the armed forces. While it shouldn’t matter, it does, and we all know it. As obesity becomes rampant across the United States however, it has become quite clear that we cannot rely on others to help us lose that extra weight. If we want a chance of getting healthy, we have to stop listening to the fad diets, and we have to start taking care of our bodies. The bottom line here, is that there IS no miracle cure! There is no quick way of losing weight. What we do have however is the RIGHT way of losing weight, and many potential methods are listed in this book. It is important to keep in mind that what works for one individual might not work for another, but if you keep trying, you will undoubtedly find your solution.
The Standard American Diet, or the SAD diet seems to have taken over and this is due in part to the convenience offered by fast and frozen food. In one aspect, these foods have made life much easier in that meals are much simpler to prepare. It no longer takes the entire day to prepare a simple meal. In many ways this has changed our society for the better. How exactly? Up to the 1950’s women were forced to stay home, preparing meals and cleaning the house while men would venture out into the world and work. Much of this had to do with sexism, but it also had to do with the fact that there was no one else to cook the meals. Let’s face it, in those days a man could barely cook a piece of toast, let along an entire meal. As the world changed around us, things became more convenient, and the SAD simply became a way of life. From the dollar burgers at your favourite fast food chain, to the frozen meal in the grocery section, eating has never been easier. While the world might have become a bit simpler however, it also became important for us to watch what we were eating.
A more enlightened world MUST lead to more enlightened people, and it all starts with you. Throughout the course of this book you will learn a great number of things regarding the art of cooking, and making sure that only the healthiest products pass through your mouth and into your stomach. There is so much more to it than just diet and exercise! We have the responsibility to ensure that our diet compliments our body and allows us to function in an acceptable manner.
Some have found their solution in the art of liver cleansing, which has most definitely proven itself within the medical community. The detox diet comes in handy when the liver has managed to build up a great number of toxins, thereby inhibiting the normal function of the body itself. There are many ‘ways’ to detox the liver, and this book talks about one of the more safe. It will also discuss some of the most popular detox diets, ensuring that you are well on your way to a healthier existence.
In addition to a good detox plan, you will find that these pages offer far more. In fact, you will discover a number of different meal plans that can aid in losing weight over a period of time. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal plans are all available, and if you’re very adventurous, brunch.
Another aspect that people tend to forget about when they are dieting is the smoothie. The smoothie is similar to a milkshake, but is capable of providing you all of the nutrients you need for a given day, and they are very capable of becoming meal replacements. The most difficult part of course, will be finding a smoothie recipe for all three meals that actually meets your dietary requirements. As always, we strongly recommend you visit a physician or a dietician before you completely replace your meal routine. A smoothie can be created in a blender, though there are commercial smoothie makers on the market if you are so inclined. The one thing you do not want to do however is use a juicer. While the resulting liquid might be tasty, it will not be ideal for your diet. Juicers tend to leech all of the nutrients from fruits and vegetables, leaving you with little more than by-product. When you want a healthy snack, always consider the amount of nutrients left over! That being said, use the recipes in this book to your advantage and create a healthy lifestyle.
While a quick read through this book might not tell you every single thing that you need to know, you WILL find that it gives you a number of recues that you can follow in your daily life. Included of course is a section on cooking raw foods, as well as a section on energy bars as potential meal replacements. The one thing you can be sure of, is that this will not be an easy transition. You may have cravings for the foods you love, and you might feel as if you have to give into temptation. If you follow these recipes however, and the advice found in many other great cookbooks, you might find yourself with a new set of favourite foods as your body adjusts to the diet and becomes what it was truly supposed to be. We can’t predict the same results for every single person, but when you treat your body correctly, and give it what it needs to function, we can guarantee that you will feel much, much better in the long run. The big question you need to ask yourself now, is what can it really hurt to try? It’s time to give you and your body what it deserves.
Section 1: Detox Diet Book
What is detoxification and how does this type of diet help the body?
Knowing what toxins are and how they affect the body is the first step to understanding how a detox diet is beneficial. Toxins can be peptides, proteins or molecules that may cause illness or disease when absorbed by the tissues of the body. They range from mild toxins to deadly ones. They can also be the cause of weight gain and general bad health.
Some toxins are man-made. This includes insecticides used on crops to kill pests and herbicides used for ridding crops of weeds. Other common ones are part of found in products that are used daily. They are called teratogenic agents. For example, aspirin, coffee, alcohol are teratogenic agents. They are also agents such drugs, viruses and infections and x-rays.
Ridding the body of toxins that adversely affect health is the number one way to a good health. There
