- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was a short story collection edited by Veronica Belmont and Tom Merritt who run the Sword and Laser Podcast.
There were twenty short stories chosen from the submissions of new authors in both science fiction and fantasy and I think the editors did a fine job.
Some of these stories were extremely good. 3.5 starts. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I wasn't really impressed with any of the stories in this anthology to be honest. None stood out to me as particularly interesting or original. None of them were absolutely horrible, but none of them were outstandingly good. Overall a rather mediocre collection unfortunately. I will say the SciFi portion was better than the Fantasy section, but after finishing the book it's like I honestly couldn't tell you much about any individual story because they weren't very memorable
