- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Smurf Apprentice, is a fun story about a Smurf who desires to be like Papa Smurf, and wants to perform magic, unfortunaly finds himself in Gargamels lab taking a special magic potion that has no instructions as to what the magic portion is to be ussed for. After drinking it, the Smurf turns into a green lizard and all of his blue friends and family are running scared of him. Its a great book, recommended for readers 7 to 11 years old. It has a message to be learned, not to take what doe'nt belong to you, there is suspense not knowing if he will be a smurf again. There is bright illustrations. Can be used in the classroom on a lesson on responsibilty, can be used for creating a discussion about right and wrong, include in class rules.
