What I See
What I see
Can’t be captured on this page
What I know
Can’t be explained in words
What I feel
Can’t be hidden inside
Words
Words are ugly
Words are cruel
Words evoke hatred
And words can make me cry
Words are beautiful
Words hold truth
Words evoke love
And words can make me cry
Take A Journey With Me
Follow me past the strokes of colour
Clear a path between the blur of noise
Around the picket fences
Through the wandering souls
Down the darkened corridors
Up the flight of progress
Navigate the swamp of sorrows
Thrust your way across doubt street
Soar over peaceful valley
And on ever more higher
Towards that place that draws you
The one where you truly belong
Just follow the voice of your heart’s song
Abusive Words
She beat herself with words everyday
Imagined they were real in every way
Each hateful phrase a bruise would make
Inside a scar would soon take shape
The Destroyer, oh he loves to destroy
Tear you down, rip apart
All that he would enjoy
He keeps winning
Because she keeps believing
Shut up! Shut up! She screams
Get behind me you evil thing
I have something better, greater in me
And He’s already claimed the victory
He’s the one I will believe
But still she
Beats herself with words everyday
Imagines they are real in every way
Each hateful phrase a bruise does make
Inside a new scar takes shape
And everyday she calls on Him
And everyday He lifts her up again
I Wanna Run
I wanna run
But you slow me down
I
