About the Author
Introduction: About Design
Design is all around us, it is not just a feature of our surroundings it is also a process. When we buy a new chair, arrange flowers in a vase or present a meal we all engage with design and on one level become designers ourselves, constantly re-arranging and arranging our surroundings and the objects within them to make our worlds look and work in the way we want. The way we have designed and continue to design our world is linked to many factors about ourselves. Surrounding our existence, design plays a vital role in defining both our individual and our collective identities and gives our lives meaning. The essence of design is more relevant today than it has ever been from over production to climate change and financial challenges, we have grown to become more conscious of the material culture within our everyday lives. This book is dedicated to the everyday female, an easy step-by-step guide that aims to empower women to become the best they can be. Instil confidence to go out into the world and live life well enjoying be you looking and feeling great.
The design process can be inventively fun, revitalizing, full of fascinating twists and turns and sometimes tiresomely frustrating as you strive to invent and perfect your skill with knowledge and experiments. But ultimately design excites, confronts, educates, stimulates and is a beautiful instrument for improving the quality of life. These days size is not just a number; it is the way you feel in the changing room, it is the difference between a good day and a bad day. It is how you see yourself every time you look in the mirror. But what if all that went away? What if we could see what is really there? Maybe it is time to change the way we think about size and discover that all bodies are amazingly beautiful. You are born with a certain face, shape and body type, you may have a beautiful mind but realistically if you haven’t got it going on to the best of your ability
