      I would like to acknowledge my great indebtedness to First Church Unity of Nashville, Tennessee, for helping me find a vision of God in the Bible that I could accept and ultimately cherish.

      Before Unity I never felt a connection to the Bible because of all the hell-fire information I had heard from organized religion. One of the main reasons I was attracted to Unity was the way they depicted a loving God with metaphysical interpretations of the Bible that were highly relevant to me and our 21st Century world. Charles Fillmore, one of the founders of Unity Church said, The Bible is a very wonderful book; as man develops in spiritual understanding it reveals itself to him, and he sees why it has been reverenced and called holy by the people.

      Soon after attending Unity I was introduced to A COURSE IN MIRACLES where I discovered more ideas about the Bible that were harmonious with Unity's approach. I began to discover that the healing and empowering messages in both Unity and A COURSE IN MIRACLES were also in the Bible and that the hell-fire information that had distanced me was simply mistaken.

      I believe there are numerous people who really don't resonate with the hell-fire view but still have a great longing for the Bible and Jesus. What I have done in this book on A COURSE IN MIRACLES, is to take biblical references and show how the Course gives them an entirely different meaning. You will see that the messages are more gentle and loving than the way they have been presented in traditional Biblical interpretation.

      First Church Unity helped me find A COURSE IN MIRACLES and both of them helped me find God in the Bible.
