Jesus tells his followers a story about the Good Samaritan. It is a story about loving your neighbor. A Jew travels from Jerusalem to Jericho, when robbers attack him. A priest goes down the same road, but when he sees the man, he doesn’t help him. A man who serves in God’s Temple sees the man, but he doesn’t help him either. A Samaritan sees the hurt man and bandages his wounds. He puts the man on his donkey and takes him to an inn, where he takes care of him. Samaritans and Jews don’t like one another, but this Samaritan follows God’s command to love his neighbor.

Elizabeth is going to have a baby too. Mary tells her, “The Mighty One has done great things for me!” Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem, but there is no room in the inn. They go to a stable, where Mary gives birth to Jesus on Christmas. Mary knows that Jesus is a special baby. Shepherds see angels in the sky singing, “Glory to God!” An angel tells them Jesus is born and lying in a manger. The shepherds hurry to see Jesus. The Magi come from the East to worship Jesus. They offer him gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

He gathers all of the beautiful girls in Babylon so that he can choose a queen from among them. Esther is a Jewess, and the king likes her the best, and picks her to be his new queen. Haman is the king’s helper. He hates Jews and tricks the king into killing them. Esther gives a banquet for the king and Haman. The king likes the banquet so much that he says to Esther, “I’ll give you anything you ask for.” Esther replies, “Haman wants to kill my people. Please stop him.” The king is angry and stops Haman. The holiday called Purim is celebrated to remember how Esther saved her people.

The ruler of Egypt, Pharaoh, finds out that Joseph can interpret dreams. Pharaoh is so happy that Joseph can tell him what his dreams mean that he put Joseph in charge of Egypt. Joseph’s brothers come to Egypt to buy food. He forgives his brothers and tells them that God sent him to Egypt so that he could help them. Joseph’s family moves to Egypt and they are reunited.

David isn’t afraid and tells King Saul that God will protect him from the giant. David takes his slingshot and five smooth stones. He tells Goliath that he is fighting him in the name of God. David hits Goliath in his forehead with a stone, and he falls down. David is the winner. David the brave shepherd boy grows up to become a courageous king.

She goes back to the tomb and sees Jesus alive. He is risen from the dead. Then, Jesus appears to his disciples. Resurrection Day is also called Easter.

The princess picks up the basket and says, “I will take care of this baby as my own.” Miriam runs to the princess and asks, “Would you like me to find a nurse for the baby?” “Yes,” replies the princess. Miriam is happy. Now her brother is safe. She tells her mother the good news. When the baby is older, his mother brings him to the princess. The princess names him Moses. Moses grows up to be a great leader of his people.

As Samuel grows up, he becomes a great prophet of God and a leader.
