      The Holy Spirit is involved in our salvation; and after we are saved, He is involved in our spiritual life and in every part of the work we do for the Lord.

      The Holy Spirit convicts the lost of sin and draws them to the Saviour. He is the agent in the new birth. We are born of the Spirit. After we are saved, the Holy Spirit is our teacher. When we are in sorrow, He is our comforter. When we do not know what to do, He is our guide. We only have to listen to the still small voice of the Spirit to be directed in the Lord's work. As we work for the Lord He is our source of power.

      Years ago I read a book on soul winning by R. A. Torrey. In the book he stated that when a lost person is not responding to our efforts to win him, we should pause and pray silently for the Holy Spirit to convict him.

      The next Sunday I arrived early at the church where I was pastor. A lost man also arrived early. As I started witnessing to him, he appeared not to be interested, so I used the advice that Dr. Torrey had given in his book. I bowed my head and prayed silently for the lost man. His attitude changed immediately, and he soon trusted Jesus as his Saviour.

      The Holy Spirit is our source of power. The following chapters direct the way to receive an anointing with power and give guidance on how to be successful in the Lord's work.
