About this ebook
Why 'Barre Chord Theory, Practice, and Troubleshooting'? A lot of people have tried barre chords. They couldn't make them work, and clearly, someone saying 'just do this' isn't clear enough. Most books do little better. They often just show you the shapes, but don't show you the little things that will make you successful. Wall charts and laminated notebook pages are even worse. 'Barre Chord Theory' provides the discussion you would receive from an experienced teacher. As a private instructor who teaches barre chords all the time, I know what the common errors are in approach and in technique. Don't fear being asked to play with others again.
If you've never tried barre chords before, this book will walk you through in a progressive manner without making assumptions about your current level of knowledge. Don't think that means I'm going to be wordy though. You'll learn just what you need to know to get you up and running or to fix the problems you may be having. The book will also fill any gaps you may have in your knowledge. If you know the barre chord shapes but only know a few locations, you'll nail down the knowledge that will have you playing in every key in no time. Don't put it off. Get the book today and be ready for a new life of musical expression, confidence, and competence.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Horrible explanation makes out learning to play Barre chords way more complicated then it is. One good thing is they emphasis developing good practice habits.

Intro
Learning barre chords is likely to be one of the most challenging experiences when it comes to chords – from a strength perspective in any case. But when it comes to gaining the respect of other musicians, they're pretty basic. In fact, most people's failure with barre chords comes from lack of proper technique and not lack of strength. Nevertheless, the fact remains that strength must be built, and the best way to building strength to play barre chords, is by playing barre chords. Yeah, I know. But they don't work for me. Maybe not, but they will, with the help of this book.
Look at it this way. There are two or three keys that allow you to play with open chords to any great degree. The other keys are lost to us with only open chards. Are you tired of the easy guitar books? Are you tired of buying books from your favourite bands and discovering that you can't play any of their songs? Let's fix that.
I've heard it all. I just want to play. Go for it. Sure you can get away with power chords if you're in a hard rock band and you're all learning, but wouldn't you rather be versatile enough that you can play something more than power chords or lead guitar riffs?
What if that other band, the one that's getting a name for itself, hears you play and asks you if you'd like to sit in? You've been 'just playing' for some time now, but when you sit in with them and someone says, Okay, the chords are Bb, Eb, Dm, and Cm7, and you don't know where to go or what to do, guess what – you're out.
It's fine when you're first learning to ask for help, but when that band asks, you had better just know. They're not going to take the time to teach you every song; they're going to expect to hand you a sheet with chords and lyrics on it and have you figure it out for yourself. On the other hand, if they throw it at you and you have it nailed in a couple of run-throughs, they're going to love you.
Let's give you what you need to be ready to play in that band.
