Teen witch Rosa wants sparks to fly on Midwinter Solstice for all her friends. Love potions are dangerous, but she’s hoping for a little boost to get everyone in a holiday mood. Getting lost in the Otherworld wasn’t part of the plan.
When the friends wake up in Faerie, can they find their way home with their relationships still intact?
“A Midwinter Night’s Dream” is a short story, inspired by Shakespeare’s play, in the Fae of Calaveras series. The events happen in December between books 1 and 2, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

Midwinter Solstice was the winter holiday for faeries and other magical people. On the longest night of the year, every Court celebrated with an extravagant party full of music, food, and gifts that lasted until dawn. It wasn’t the biggest annual party, but winter break just wouldn’t be the same without it.
I was human, but I’d learned witchcraft from a Fae, and most of my friends were part of the Court. In fact, the local Count’s heir Glen was one of my friends, and the solstice fell on his seventeenth birthday. I was VIP for the party at Doe’s Rest Castle that evening.
The girls—me, my human friend Heather, and my faeriekin friend Ashleigh—all met up at the castle that afternoon to get ready for the party. Servants helped us change into elaborate ball gowns, apply makeup, and do up our hair in elegant styles. But before we were ready, the boys—Glen, my kitsune boyfriend Kai, and his naga friend
