- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great character development but the first half is slow and labouring a point.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is quite an Interesting one.
This is quite an Interesting one - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5SOOO BAD! I do not understand the good reviews on this book.
Chessie runs away on her wedding day because she catches her husband making out passionately with his girlfriend on the terrace at their reception.
She tries to sneak back into the country six months later to see her mother, he catches her and kidnaps her. He sees absolutely nothing to apologize for but he will consider forgiving her for running away eventually, he says. She begs for a divorce. Cue the forced seduction where he won’t take no for an answer and in an entirely unbelievable set of events she turns into a puddle of lust when he assaults her. He kidnaps her to his island where he attempts to impregnate her, then goes away on business to have sex with his blonde girlfriends, which she is expected to understand even though she repeatedly has told him she is horrified by his infidelity (and just to show what an even bigger pig he is, he expects total fidelity from her).
He’s a nightmare. And she is so pathetic that when she sees him on the news with his girlfriend she actually gets a makeover and follows him to try to get his attention instead of using that opportunity to escape and get a hella good divorce lawyer.
Everything about it was SO pathetic and disgusting. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Once again, Sarah Morgan did a superb job in this book. Her heroine and hero were deep and complicated, but funny and so real. Chessie was so endearing and Rocco totally defenceless to her campaign to make him think her sexy. Loved it.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5He spent the early part of their marriage cheating on her and then she changes her appearance so he will take notice of her and love her. Apparently it doesn't matter that he'd spent months cheating on her every time he left to go on 'business'. No big deal.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Chessie is one of the best characters I've read in this genre. I laughed throughout the story. She certainly was a match for Rocco. I loved the fact that she wasn't subservient or weak, just lacking in self esteem because of a horrible father. Recommend this book. An enjoyable read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5WARNING; THESE COMMENTS CONTAIN SORTA MINOR SPOILERS. this book shot right to my keeper shelf - this is what the Harlequin Presents books are all about: innocent heroine; rich, arrogant hero; setting (Italy & Sicily); but this book has a slight twist; the hero is charmingly clueless about his young wife and women in general; he's convincingly bewildered when he finds out why she left him on their wedding day, how she needs a life of her own; being married to a very rich man is fine but there's more to life than that and he just can't figure out what she means. It's so nice to read about a more human hero, and one who isn't cruel to the woman in his life; and the heroine has just enough backbone to stand up to him, make her needs/feelings known, and insist on getting what she needs and wants. Sometimes plot twists can seem contrived; sometimes the hero can be too domineering, or the heroine too TSTL; fortunately this book was populated by human characters, not cookie cutter ones; I also found the plot, scenes, and settings (from Sicily to Florence, etc) segued smoothly from one to the other. The only way this book could have been better was to have the hero crawl on his hands and knees to beg the heroine's forgiveness, but the book didn't' need this. It's nearly darn near perfect just as it is. I've read one other Sarah Morgan and was very impressed with her writing skills. Luckily for me I have a slew of her books TBR. Can't wait to dig into them.
