    Dedication

THIS BOOK IS DEDICATED to all those who partake in biblical studies and you Christians who never give up in the search for the truth.

It is also dedicated to all of my wonderful children and grandchildren. May God bless you each day!

    Introduction

WILL THERE BE an "End-of-Time?" Shall the earth explode in a blazing moment of time? Or, will mankind simply wipe them from the face of the earth? Questions like these and others are constantly being put to pastors, priests, and scholars-worldwide. But do any of them really know the truth, or are they simply misleading people.

Many scholars and preachers have it all wrong. Exactly what the truth of this over preached book and favorite Hollywood satire, is what we shall examine. This particular book will take you on a journey through the famous miss-quoted Book of Revelation. You will learn the truths and fantasies of this piece of biblical, apocalyptic text and find out all about it.

You may or may not like what you read, but, The truth shall make you free (Jesus).

    Chapter One

    The History of Revelation

IN THE FIRST PLACE, the Apostle John did not write Revelation. According to the book of Acts, he and Peter were both illiterate and therefore it is very doubtful that either one could have written any gospels or other forms of biblical text.

Secondly, Revelation is not a book, but seven letters written to the seven churches of Asia-Minor that existed in that time period.

So, if John didn't write the Book of John or Revelation, then who did. The gospel of John is believed by most scholars to have been written by John Mark, also known as Mark. Some even attribute his writings to those of Revelation. Unfortunately, this is not the case. All we truly know about the writer of Revelation is the fact that someone who called himself John, also known as John of Patmos wrote it.

Whomever it was, he was a highly educated Greek and not Jewish. The formation of the paragraphs and the accompanying text lead me to believe that it was written by someone who was educated in a Greco-Roman city.

He or she would have also been from an influential family since only the upper-class could afford to pay for education in the period of our history in which Revelation was written.

Another reason I say this is because of the wording or words used in the text. This type of writing is known as Apocalyptic Style, and used quite often by Greek playwrights and storytellers of that time period. Also, the book smacks of poetry or of a play that would have been assembled and presented in the Amphitheatres of Rome. The second reason I know that this writer was Greek is because of the many Greek words used in Revelation. Words like Alpha and Omega which happen to be the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. No Jewish person would have used such
