The Geodes Arrive
The Geodes could feel the excitement and energy in the room. The big day had finally arrived. After years of hard work, their density machine was ready for the big test. The Geodes, who were all scientists, had been working on a new theory of gravity and now that their density machine was ready, they could finally test their theory. The full team was there, Cody Cube, Charlie Cylinder, Carlos Cone, Sam Sphere, and Pamela Pyramid.
Well Geodes, today is the big day. We are finally ready to run the experiment to test our new theory of gravity,
declared Cody.
All systems are set. The density machine is ready to be powered up,
said Pamela.
Power on Charlie,
said Cody.
Power on,
replied Charlie.
The density machine sprang to life. Charlie gradually increased the power. As the density machine neared full power, the space around the machine began to warp into the shape of a funnel, and a mini black hole appeared in the center of the funnel.
It’s working!
yelled an excited Cody.
The lights began to flicker, and what felt like a giant whirlpool began to suck them into the void. Suddenly, everything went totally dark, and in the next instant the Geodes found themselves standing in a very strange place.
Wow! That was some trip,
said Carlos.
Yeah, I guess we cranked up the power a little too much,
replied Cody.
Where are we? This doesn’t look like our dimension,
asked Pamela.
I don’t know for sure, but it looks like someone’s backyard on planet earth,
said Cody.
First we were in the lab, next we were in the dark, now we are on another planet,
said Sam.
What are we going to do now?
asked Charlie.
We had better start figuring out a way to get back home,
replied Pamela.
That’s not going to be easy. The density machine is back in our dimension. We are going to have to build another density machine and that’s going to take time and money,
said Cody.
It looks like we are going to be here for a long time,
sighed Carlos.
The Geodes were so busy trying to figure out how to get back home that they didn’t notice when two little girls walked up. Sarah and Erika had been playing water wars in the back yard when the Geodes suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The girls cautiously approached the Geodes.
You guys look strange. You look like geometric solids!
Sarah exclaimed.
We may appear strange to you, but where we come from we are quite ordinary. However, you are correct, we are geometric solids,
replied Cody.
Where did you guys come from?
asked Sarah.
We’re from another dimension and have accidentally become trapped here on your planet,
replied Pamela.
Oh well, that explains everything,
replied Erika sarcastically.
I don’t see a spaceship or anything. How did you get here?
asked
