- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The questions I’ve kept on hearing in my journey of trying to be a good Christian woman have been, why has the lord decided to make me a woman, and what is my purpose???Asa Christian women, we need to remember that the Bible is fraught with reassurance and astuteness as to who we are and better comprehend the function the Lord has made for us. We also must remember that He has created you in His image.1 CORINTHIANS 15:10 [NKJV] reminds all women of the following:“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”And once we come to realize the truth as to why we are the way we are. We should go and exalt the Lord in the manner that gets found in reading PROVERBS 139:14 [NKJV]:“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”When we ask ourselves what our purpose is, we need to remember that the Spirit of the Lord might have endowed us with a gift, which 1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11 [NKJV] tells us about:4] There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.5] There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.6] And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:8] for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,9] to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,10] to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.11] But the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. While all the above might be true, the important thing we need to remember for being the woman that we are is that the Lord has blessed us with the ability to bring forth life, with the seed[s] that He has placed in our wombs, and that we had been made in His image. While what I’ve stated is the truth as far as I am concerned. I feel we still need a professional guide to provide us, as Christian women, with a better comprehension of our identity, the Lord’s will, and most importantly, His intended purpose for us as His one of its kind creation. In reading this devotional book by Cynthia Heald, I found her to be the formidable type of guide we require. For being the type of guide, we require to discover the purpose of our lives as Christian women; I’ve given Ms. Heald 5 STARS.I read this book via an Amazon KU [KINDLE Unlimited] download.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is one of a series of books written by Cynthia Heald. The focus of this particular study is to first, introduce the reader to God's purpose and then explain the role we each play in achieving that purpose. Scripture covering each topic has been carefully selected to guide the reader to a true study of the Bible. The author's own comments and quotes from other commentators are minimal but insightful. As with her similar studies on other topics, the book is short in length. Each chapter leads the reader to several Bible verses for additional reading however. Each chapter also includes several contemplative questions for the reader to answer after reading the selected verses. This is an excellent study and one I plan to keep on my shelf to revisit when I begin to lose my way.

Becoming a Woman of Purpose - Cynthia Heald
Preface
ALL OF US HAVE BEEN encouraged at some time or another to determine what our purpose is in doing a project, planning an event, or setting life goals.
I used to think that trying to decide on a purpose was a waste of time. My philosophy was, If something needs doing, just do it! Why spend the time and energy trying to decide why it should get done? But I have lived long enough to experience disillusionment when, after working hard on a project, it seemed to yield minimal results. I have since realized that having a purpose frees me from focusing on results. Instead, I am able to rest in the accomplishment of an underlying purpose that is not dependent on circumstances.
So it is with God’s work in our lives. If we can begin to understand His purpose, what He is about in our world and in our lives, then our perspective on what happens day to day takes on new meaning.
If I am God’s child, what is His purpose for me? What does He want to accomplish? What is important to Him? These are valid questions that need to be answered if we are to experience genuine fulfillment and joy in life.
This is not a study that centers on discovering your own individualized purpose in life. Nor is it an exhaustive treatment of this subject. However, it is my hope that this study will be a catalyst for you to understand God and His purposes in a fresh way. For it is in comprehending the purposes of God that you will find the true, eternal purpose for your life.
May God richly bless you as you become a woman of purpose for His glory.

Suggestions
–for Using This Study–
THIS STUDY IS DESIGNED FOR both individual as well as small group use, and for women of any age or family status.
Many of the questions will guide you into Scripture passages. Ask God to reveal His truth to you through His Word, and don’t be concerned about wrong
answers. Bible study references—such as commentaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks—can help you understand particular passages by providing historical background, contexts, and common interpretations. (In a few cases, you’ll need access to a standard dictionary—such as Webster’s, Random House, or the Oxford American—for general word definitions.)
Other questions will ask you to reflect on your own life. Approach these questions honestly and thoughtfully; however, if you’re doing this study in a group, don’t feel that you must reveal private details of your life experiences. Use the questions for Contemplation and Prayer
at the close of each chapter to help you work through significant issues raised by your study. If you keep a personal journal, it might be best to write these reflections there rather than in this guide.
You may also want to memorize the key Scripture reference for each chapter, which is the Scripture used for Contemplation and Prayer.
Write the memory verses (from your favorite version) on a card or Post-it, put it in a place where you will see it regularly, and memorize it. Thank God for who He is and for what He is doing in your life.
You’ll find that memorizing God’s Word will enrich your study and deepen the significance and impact of your personal reflection.
The quotes from classic thinkers and writers have been carefully selected to enhance your understanding and enjoyment of the content in Becoming a Woman of Purpose. The references for these quotations (see the Notes
section at the back of the book) will also furnish an excellent reading list for your own devotional reading and study.
THE FATHER AND THE CHILD
The Child spoke:
Father, what do You want me to do?
Do, My child?
Yes, I am confused. I have daily responsibilities that occupy much of my time, and there are always people asking me to serve in their ministries. I’m not sure what I should be doing. I think I need to know my purpose. So here I am. I finally realized that instead of my trying to decide what is best, or letting others decide for me, I need to come to You and ask what Your will is for me.
If that is your desire, then first you must understand what is important to Me and what My plans and purposes are for establishing My Kingdom.
But how do I do that?
By studying the Scriptures to discover My ways. It is in knowing My heart that you will understand My purpose for you. Come, sit at My feet and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest, not work, for your soul.
I am ready, Father. It is an honor to sit at Your feet.
CHAPTER 1
God’s Purpose:
A PEOPLE WHO WILL REFLECT HIS GLORY
chapterYou are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
REVELATION 4:11, NIV
