About this ebook
One day, at my 86th birthday party, during a gathering of our eleven children at home, I was asked to tell them what kind of work I was doing. Of course, they knew I want to my office every day but they did not know what I actually did while in the office. I began by telling them I am an inventor of a number of office products, also told them that I am an award winning sales letter writer and I write letters to help my clients sell their products. In addition, I help my clients in many other ways to be more successful with their marketing efforts. I summarized all of that by telling the kids about how I help my clients find ways to solve many of their marketing problems with profitable thinking. In short, I said: "I help my business friends with their business problems so they can be more successful and earn more profits."
I have attempted to write the kind of book, here, that you will find interesting and helpful in your business life. The examples that follow are merely stories that illustrate some of the ways I used what I call profitable thinking to help both my business and the business of my clients as I taught them the importance of spending time each day thinking profitably.
Next, they wanted to know how I was able to do all of that. I said, "I went to college after I got out of the Navy and took several classes where I was taught many of those subjects. One of my daughters interrupted me and said: "Daddy, you really should write a book and tell some stories about how you are able to help so many people be more successful."
I hope this book will help you and at the same time explain as clearly as possible that profitable thinking should be at the top of your list of things you should do every day.

Life is not a journey to the grave
With the intention of arriving
Safely in a well preserved body,
But rather to skid in broadside,
Thoroughly used up,
Totally worn out and proclaiming:
Wow! What a ride!

Roll your works upon the Lord,
commit and trust them wholly to Him;
He will cause your thoughts to become
agreeable to His will,
and so shall your plans be established and succeed.

Chapter 1
Profitable Thinking?
I remember what my father, Harold E. Weber, Sr., always used to say about business and money, You could always earn money if you could obtain a nickel . . . buy shoe laces at the Five & Ten, go door to door and sell them for 10 cents . . . buy more shoelaces and repeat the process . . .
I always retained the thought that I could always survive no matter what happened.
One day, at my 86th birthday party, during a gathering of our eleven children at home, I was asked to tell them what kind of work I was doing. Of course, they knew I went to my office every day but they did not know what I actually did while in the office. I began by telling them I am an inventor of a number of office products, also told them that I am an award winning sales letter writer and I write letter to help my clients sell their products. I summarized all of that by telling the kids about how I help my clients find ways to solve many of their marketing problems with profitable thinking. In short, I said: I help my business friends with their business problems so they can be more successful and earn more profits.
I have attempted to write the kind of book, here, that you will find interesting and helpful in your business life. The examples that follow are merely stories that illustrate some of the ways I used what I call profitable thinking to help both my business and the business of my clients as I taught them the importance of spending time each day thinking profitably.

I hope this book will help you and at the same time explain as clearly as possible that profitable thinking should be at the top of your list of things you should do every day.
HOW TO THINK ABOUT PROFITABLE THINKING
Let me tell you some interesting facts about profitable thinking. You see, what I have learned, the hard way, over the course of many years of writing about the act of profitable thinking is that all good, productive, profitable thinking is work, very hard physical work.
In fact, when done right, thinking is harder work than picking up a shovel and digging a ditch for many hours in the hot sun! Don’t kid yourself about this. When you set out to really put your mind to finding a solution to a problem, be prepared to be mentally exhausted and completely worn out at the end of your thinking session. But, let me add this encouragement to you, the results of your battle to keep yourself and your mind thinking all day long can produce exciting results and give you the most rewarding feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment that you can ever imagine.
My intention here is to tell you a number of stories. I tell you these stories as examples of problem solving thinking to illustrate to you the many benefits of thinking for yourself to help others. At the same time you will see by these examples how thinking has helped me in my writing, in my personal and business life so many times down through the years. By the way, I have also learned, after raising eleven children, the best way to teach them is by example, not by lecturing or scolding and reprimanding them.
Regarding the benefits of using examples, let me give you a few.
EXAMPLES OF HOW I THINK & WRITE
Example 1 • What It Means To Be Alive
The Spark Of Life Is For All Of Us
What is it that makes my day? I don’t know about you but each day of my life is filled with excited anticipation of all of the fun and practical events I’ll do my best to make happen, one after the other during this new day. In short, I face each day with great expectations.
I open my eyes after a good night’s sleep and after having some pleasant and interesting dreams, I am very much aware of the fact that because God loves me he has given me another day of life. This is another day to simply be: alive! There have been many times when I have tried to define and explain what the words life
and alive
really mean. We all know the opposite of those words
