Tears of Tess is about a twenty year old college girl named Tess Snow. She lives in Australia with her boyfriend of two years in Australia. Brax is his name. He surprises her with a vacation in Mexico for the just two of them. On the course of their visits in canon, Brax gets beaten up by traffickers. From there, the story gains momentum. Tess is kidnapped by the traffickers and she attempts hard to escape from them. When she is taken to their place, she learns there are more young girls like her kidnapped. Luckily for her, she is sold to a young man called Q. Though she doesn’t like him at first, she knows she is safe there. She has got a new friend too. This may not make her happy, deep in her heart she knows well if she had been sold to some other person, she could have been ruined. She learns Q is a gentleman eventually.

He frees her only to realize she wants to stay. Will Q allow that? If Brax comes to know about the relationship she shared with Q, what will his reactions be?

To be honest, I didn’t like Tess character from the beginning. Her sexual libido’s especially. Brax seemed like a very nice guy. Let me be frank, she didn’t deserve a great guy like Brax. After she was sold to Q, she should be hating him but all she did was love him. She didn’t mean it literally but that was the truth. She fawned over him. She desperately needed him so much. It occurred to me even though she was sold by others, she wanted to be a slut that bad. She proved it by wanting him. The sex scenes could have been reduced and more scenes about Tess and her boyfriend, what made them tick and or what made Q and Tess tick would have been wiser. The sex scenes between her and Q didn’t make sense at many places. I felt it to be lame.

What I liked? Brax character. He was such a lovely sweetheart. I also happen to like Q’s character. There are certain scenes in which he acted like a total jerk, then how did Tess act around him? He didn’t do anything hard on her after all.She should have been nicer.Brax character fits perfectly into the story. Like Tess said, he should be with Bianca. Their relationship is justified.

What I didn’t like? Throughout the story, Q calls Tess, eslave which is a French word, meaning , slave in English. Whenever he said that word I wanted to slap him. Tess calls him, ‘master’ this also I didn’t like a bit. Quite naturally, if Q just sends her to Brax when she came to his house will have turned out to be good for everyone involved. Then where is the fun? Q confesses, he liked her from the start. The story behind the tattoo, sparrow was marvelous. Q has untold secrets. What is going to happen Tess saying her name?Nothing. This made me annoying. She could say it.Tears of Tess didn't melt me.Overall, the novel was unputdownnable. I sat during the night and finished it in one sitting.

At first, I am appalled that I liked this book so much. It is everything degrading to a woman and the horrors she endures I cannot even fathom. But it was a page turner I have to admit. Tess has finally gotten what she wants...a break from reality and a chance to show her boyfriend her secret desires. But on their mini holiday in Mexico, Tess is abducted and sold into slavery/human trafficking. Beaten, bruised and terrified, she shows up on the doorstep of her new master still with her fighting spirit. And this intrigues the master of the house. Q is a well dressed, handsome man who has dark tendancies lurking behind his cerulean blue eyes. And Tess fights him at every opportunity. But the fighting is what turns Q on...and Tess. Together, the pair will trade their dark secrets and try to carry on together as master and slave, even when the time comes for the truth to come out.

    30.08. IT'S LIVE!!!

    Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen.

    SIGH. I LOVED THIS BOOK.

Pepper Winters has amazing story-telling skills.

The change Tess undergoes as a character from this... naive, slightly desperate girl to a very strong female character in the end was amazing to see. I STRUGGLED WITH TESS. In the beginning. So it should say something that by the end I was giving her a fictional high-five girl power kpow! With every blow she takes, she just comes out stronger and better, and trust me, she takes a lot of blows. It was awesome.

    Q is...
I can't tell you about Q, because the unraveling of his character was done so well I don't want to say ANYTHING about him, just so you get to experience him.
But I will tell you how his character made me feel.
    SO.CONFLICTED.
One second he's human, next he turns into a monster. My mind was spinning and I FREAKING LOVED IT. I loved Q so much!
I loved that the author doesn't make excuses for him, it is what it is. Take it or leave it.

If you're reading the book for the sweet love despite the odds just step away cause this is not it. The connection these two share is dark and twisted and sick but it works. It's co-dependency on a whole another level. They're good apart but together they're explosive. And it made sense and I understood it.

If I had to, I'd say this book was 50SoG done right, but it feels like I'm downplaying it cause it's so much more.
Also, I'm not a shadey books fan.

If you can handle the abuse and just how graphic it is, it's so worth it. I'm just gonna write out that this book comes with trigger warning for good reason. Yes, there's rape. Yes, it's brutal.

I don't even have to say there are graphic sex scenes.

OH! Totally forgot to mention the epilogue! FREAKING LOVED IT. LOVED LOVED LOVED.

Overall, TESS DELIVERS. Pepper Winters totally delivers and I'm so glad I got to read this book cause I was bursting at the seams waiting for it. I'm really excited for uh... To see what else she comes up with. AMAYZIN.

So this one has a dark side to it, for sure! Tess is missing something from her relationship with Brax she is finding she may have to settle without. Then she find herself kidnapped and in the care of "Q". Her master. And then the twists really begin!I don't really know what to feel about this book. Intrigued maybe? Bad guy, turns good guy but is still ultimately a bad guy in my book. Girls who is strong, fights back but then her ultimate decisions (won't spoil it for you by telling) are seriously messed up. It was captivating to read. Definitely not your typical love story!I received this bok in exchange for an honest book review.

Loved this book! I felt torn the whole time I was reading this as to whom I wanted Tess to be with, Brax or Q. I kept going back and forth depending on what was going on with Tess at that point in the book. Q is a very scary guy where as Brax is the type of guy any princess would fall for because he is so sweet. Tears of Tess was full of emotional turmoil and again I couldn't put it down for a moment.

I had so many problems with this book's storyline and characters that it does not deserve less then five stars - it shocked me, excited me, made me feel sad and question if there is any humanity left in people. This book is a kaleidoscope of feelings and emotions. Although it is an erotic novel, sex does not play such big a part - it is more about lust and want and dom/sub situations outside the bedroom.Tess is such a fierce heroin that it is impossible to truly dislike her. Not to say I did not completely hate her at times when she felt sorry or guilty about situations that were completely out of her hands or her own actions that were completely justified, or when she started to have feelings towards people who, in my opinion, did not deserve it.I did not fall in love with Q. Mostly, I thought of him as cruel. And even though Tess tried to see the best in him, I did not share her feelings. He is definitely not an anti-hero of this book, but he did not exactly had any reason to behave the way he did towards Tess and to treat her like trash. That only showed how selfish and weak he is.But, even though I do not sympathize with Q, I did like that Tess and him had those complicated and dark feelings towards each other, and helped each other deal with those at least on some level. Also, why is the series called Tears of Tess? Tears, as in "salty liquid coming from eyes" or tears, as in "tearing to pieces"?

I had been wanting to read this book for a while and ended up putting it off to the side once I got it. I regret that decision now. However I knew I needed to be in the right frame of mind to begin this journey. I call it a journey because that is what it actually is for Tess.

Yes, this story is about human trafficking and sex slaves, but it is also about being true to yourself. Giving into your desires.

Tess is from Australia and goes off on a surprise trip with her boyfriend Brax. I feel bad for saying this but.... I never really liked Brax. Tess wasn't herself when she was with Brax and that saddened me. Tess wants to be submissive in the bedroom. She wants to be consumed with passion and bear the marks from said passion. You know that saying be careful what you wish for? Tess is kidnapped and sold into slavery. Sold to Q.

Q is a broken character. He is evil, he is a monster, but in the same breathe he is kind and compassionate. I wanted to hate him, I tried. But I just couldn't. I could see behind the mask he wore. This story is dark, but it isn't the darkest thing I have read. But it held my attention. I wanted to know what would happen next. I want to know Q inside and outside.

I really loved both characters. Tess is strong and refuses to lose sight of who she is. Her character really does grow in this book too. While this book is about darker things, it is also about giving into your desires. There is nothing wrong with being kinky, for asking what you want and need. It's a lesson Tess and Q both begin to learn. I can not wait to dive back into their story!

Good book and intriguing but not quite as dark as I had anticipated. Good all the same, will probably read the next one in the series.

There is so much wrong with this story, yet so much that is so right. This is not a happy-ending fairy tale by any means. That, in itself is one of the things I absolutely love about it! I liked the “darkness” of this book. It wasn’t too graphic, yet graphic enough to get the point across and to keep the reader not wanting to put it down.
Tess and her capture find themselves wanting to resist one another and wanting to want one another. Everything about their connection screams psychological issues on both ends. The battle they both fight borders on unhealthy and healthy at the same time.
One would almost think that Tess eventually suffers from Stockholm syndrome, but the complexity and similarity between her and her captor make more sense than we would want to admit, given the circumstances. Finding solace in something so horrible is almost unthinkable.
This book is one of the most real and unreal reads I have read. I cannot seem to get it out of my head. The seriousness and danger of this book is unimaginable. Yet, when I sit back and think about it, I get cold-chills from the realization that the idea of this story could actually happen. Maybe not in its entirety, but ideally it could. I think that’s what makes this book so ingenious! I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t wait to find out what kind of ending was in store for me. I was captivated by all of the happenings throughout the entire book.
The story will confuse you at some points, especially when Tess is first sold. But the big picture is slowly revealed. This is a bittersweet story of a woman lost in her dark desires, a captor trying to fight his dark desires and redemption for those who have broken these individuals.

One day, Tess was a happy woman on a romantic vacation to Mexico with her boyfriend, Brax. The next day, she's been kidnapped and sold into slavery.

Q is a businessman who has to do business with some unsavory characters. When he gets Tess, he's not sure what to do. She is stubborn and doesn't want to be his slave. She won't even give him her name. He wants her, but he's afraid of himself.

This book was really good. I love the interaction between Tess and Q. Q and his story was surprising to me. I started out not liking him, but by the end, I really liked him. I never liked Tess' boyfriend, Brax. He's too clingy and he doesn't really want the real Tess, he wants his fantasy version of Tess. Reading this one lead me to more of Pepper Winters' books.
