Introduction
Muffins tins have been around for decades and although their main purpose nowadays is to make muffins and cupcakes, they’ve been used for other kind of recipes in the past too and now you have the chance to try them: savory cups, pasta, eggs, frittata and the list can go on. All it takes is shifting your view from the common muffins and you will see how a whole new world of cooking unveils in front of you. Your options for breakfast, lunch or dinner are suddenly increased.
Why should I use my muffin tin for this kind of cooking you might ask? Well, first of all, muffin tin cooking is fast because the portions are smaller. If a pizza is baked in 20 to 30 minutes, smaller pizzas in a muffin tin can take no more than 15 minutes. A muffin tin also allows you to control the serving size. Plus, a muffin tin is fun and yields easy to grab food. Think how much your kids will love their breakfast or lunch coming in the shape of a small cup. You can also sneak in other vegetables in those cups, like spinach or kale, vegetables that your kid may not be that fond on.
