Literation Publications

A Literation is a grassroots electronic literary magazine founded by a handful of bloggers who met on Tumblr. The journal is aimed at spotlighting the dynamic and diverse community of writers and artists on Tumblr and to bring them to the attention of not just other Tumblr users, but to all literary channels—both traditional and non-conventional. A Literation hopes to facilitate the continued integration of “Internet Art” into the literary community, while innovating new and provocative forms of literature and providing subscribers and contributors alike an opportunity to participate in what is truly a joint venture between the reader and the writers.

    Letter from the Editor

Reading good literature is an experience of pleasure…but it is also an experience of learning what and how we are, in our human integrity and our human imperfection, with our actions, our dreams, and our ghosts, alone and in relationships that link us to others, in our public image and in the secret recesses of our consciousness.

Warning: within these pages you will find yourself longing for, dreaming of, speaking with and listening to people you never knew you cared for.

Great writing comes from a place of total knowledge. Whether purporting to speak from some distant future or reminiscing a dinner party attended just last Tuesday, the writer’s job is clear: immersion of the reader.
