INTRODUCTION
This collection contains ten games, all of which are variations on the Chess theme. All of them can be played using all, or parts of, a Chess set and board. Games such as Knightspawn are simple to learn as it has only one type of move, and could be looked on as a crossover from Draughts (Checkers) to Chess. At the other end of the spectrum, Stratak and Kingspawn are games that try to create as much variation from standard Chess whilst still using the same pieces – as is possible on an 8 x 8 board – using your Chess set. Then there is a pair of ‘time bomb-like’ games: Double-Take? and Cobra Strike! Players are encouraged to experiment with migration of compatible elements of different games into
