      The best psychics are natural psychics. Those who seem to be able to access information not available to the rest of us and intuitively know of future events are viewed in awe. What magic powers do they possess?

      Turns out, we are all, to some extent, natural psychics.

      Investigators at the Stanford Research Institute’s US government funded exploration into psychic abilities were so confident of this that when asked for a demonstration to gauge the programme’s progress, would cast those making the request in the role of the psychic. Here, visitors - there to ensure that funds weren’t being wasted by frauds - found themselves being taken through the remote viewing process, and more surprisingly, and difficult to explain to their colleagues back at the office, producing results that implied there was something to psychic functioning.

      What better way to prove something than by direct experience?

      The scientists at SRI came to believe that, as in all human capabilities and endeavours, there is a bell curve distribution of abilities for psychic functioning, making it far more prevalent than generally recognised.

      Some are naturally proficient, some learn, practise, and apply themselves to be top performers. The rest of us are at a disadvantage. Society tells us that psychic abilities are special, only available to a few, or there is something bad or unscientific and that they are to be shunned, even ridiculed. So conditioned, our own beliefs stifle their functioning.

      The remote viewing methodologies defined at SRI and by others offer the tools and a structure in which to have direct experiences of psychic functioning. This guide attempts to capture the essence of these such that given some time, a little effort, and focused intention, you can too.

      Remote Viewing Basics

      What is Remote Viewing?

      Remote viewing is a structured use of the natural psychic ability latent in all of us. It has purpose, method, and protocol.

      A definition from the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Coordinate Remote Viewing Training Manual reads

      the acquisition and description, by mental means, of information blocked from ordinary perception by distance, shielding, or time. (Smith, Paul H., et al., 1986)

      The term ‘remote viewing’ has since come to mean the practice of performing the above while conforming to conventions established at California’s Stanford Research Institute (SRI) during the 20 year US government funded investigation into psychic abilities.

      Although remote viewing fits into the broad classification of ESP, these conventions distinguish it from other forms of psychic functioning such as uncalled-for psychic impressions, out-of-body experiences, mediumship, and astral travel.

      The following conventions are required for the practise to be called remote viewing:
