Breakfast Oatmeal Recipes - Julia M. Graham

    Preface

Nutrition is essential for children’s well-being and health; an adequate diet with sufficient calories and balanced meals will result in optimal health. Therefore, choosing the correct food is very important.

Oatmeal is a great source of complex carbohydrates and is rich in fiber, and is therefore great for digestion. Carbohydrates in oatmeal are complex carbs, so when oatmeal is consumed, it can provide energy that is not quickly depleted in the process of metabolism, and provides energy for a longer period of time. The fiber in oatmeal is a mixture of soluble and insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber will ease the process of disposal, whereas soluble fiber nourishes the cells of the intestine in order to be maintaining proper digestive health.

Children's immunity is mostly found in the digestive tract. If there’s a problem in the digestive tract, then the child’s health will surely be disturbed because the process of absorption of the food is not running optimally. This can have an effect on the child’s growth.

Oatmeal also contains protein; in 100 grams of oatmeal, there are 10 grams of protein which is desperately needed by children. Although the needs of proteins are not much, children must attain some form of protein from the food they consume. Aside from the oatmeal, protein can be found in other foods, such as vegetable and meat.

Thus, it is right to choose oatmeal as a source of carbohydrates and protein. Depending on how your cook and prepare oatmeal, the kids will love it. This book will give you some ideas on how to make easy, delicious, and nutritious snacks and meals using oatmeal, like Oats Burger, Crispy Chicken Oats, Fettuccini with Oat Balls, and much more.
