About this ebook
When first hearing the term "black power," it tends to conjure the period of the 60's, and the political uphevals associted with it. A term that popularized by Stokely Carmichael, aka, Kwane Ture, it symbolized a rallying cry that went contrary to Martin Luther King's non-violent philosophy.
Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam on the other hand, had a very different understanding of the true meaning of Black Power.
A profound example of Elijah Muhammad's comprehensive lecture is demonstrated when he asked, "If the scripture said that in the beginning God said 'Let there be light,' then He couldn't have been in the light when he said that. He Himself had to have come from Blackness; thus ORIGINAL BLACK POWER!

PREFACE
Seldom will you find the average person capable or even interested in discussing the subject of Black Power. If you were to ask the person next to you, depending upon the age, they may associate the topic with the struggles of the 1960's or may even bring up a few quotables like Kwame Torre, formerly known as Stokely Carmichael. The topic is also associated with the Black Panther Party and a host of other movements of this period.
Rarely would you hear someone say that not only did the Nation of Islam, under the leadership of Elijah Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, stand for Black Power, but a Black Power that transcended present history, time and geography.
Black power is a phrase that was used as a rallying cry in the 1960's, which represented a coined term that summed up the wants of a struggling group of black people in America. Through student movements and activism, the clamor for equality, justice and freedom rang louder and louder in the voices of those on the streets, classroom halls and churches. They shouted, cried, sat in and sang for the right to do and have as their slave-master and their children. They shouted, What do we want
and the response was, Black Power.
With little time, it was in poems, songs on the radio, newspapers and television. One reason it resounded as freely as it did was because its usage was limited to nothing more than a rallying cry for something else that had very powerful ramification. As long as its secret was concealed, the slave-master and his children were safe - so it seemed.
In 1967, at the annual convention of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, gave a speech titled, Black Power. In attendance was Black Panther Party officials for this speech. Although it was widely accepted that the BPP used Malcolm as their philosophical base for revolutionary thought, among others, they, one by one, began suffering identical outcomes similar to that of Malcolm.
Like Malcolm, the BBP rejected
