    Active Transport

When molecules move from one side of the plasma membrane to the other side against a diffusion gradient, using the energy, it is called Active Transport.

    Adaptive Radiation

When a group of organisms diversifies into several new species so as to fit into new environments, it is called Adaptive Radiation.

    Adenosine Diphoshate

It is a nucleotide comprising adenine, two phosphate units and ribose.

    Adenosine Triphoshate

Adenosine Triphoshate happens to be a nucleotide having adenine, ribose and three phosphate units, is the major source of cellular energy.

    Adhesive Force

Adhesive Force indicates to the force of attraction between the molecules which are not similar, causing them to stay together. E.g. Water drops on a leaf or other similar object.

    Adventitious Roots

Adventitious Roots do not originate from primary. They generally arise from stems or leaves.

    Aerobic Cellular Respiration

    Amino Acid

Amino Acid is the small molecule that includes nitrogen containing units used to synthesize proteins.

    Anabolism

Anabolism refers to the process of metabolism causing the formation of large molecules with many small molecules.

    Anaerobic Respiration

Anaerobic Respiration is also termed as fermentation; this process does not require oxygen as the terminal electron acceptor.

    Aneuploid

Aneuploid pertains to possessing a chromosome number which does not happen to be the exact multiple of the haploid number.

    Angiosperm
