Introduction:
God has a plan for you. In Jeremiah 29:11 the bible states, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The Divine Strength Diet Plan (DSDP
) is a wholistic (meaning one or whole) approach to achieving and maintaining your weight loss goals and for achieving optimal health. The program is faith-based and its foundation lies on something I call the divine pyramid. Not only is this diet plan divinely inspired but is unique in the fact that it is a completely balanced. This is important because when your diet is balanced so is your body chemistry. It will help you to achieve balance not only in your body chemistry and blood insulin levels but also in your spirit, body, and mind as well.
The DSDP includes; a formula for creating your very own diet plan, a food and divine foods list along with their healing properties, a divine shopping list, recipes and menu’s, all to make your life happier, healthier, and easier. It also teaches you to recognize the four different levels of eating so that you can make better food choices. My job was to be obedient to God and develop his diet program as best I could and to bring you the truth. Your job is to make a commitment to God and to yourself to follow and make the changes in your diet and life that He wants you to make. Periodically throughout this book you will find prayers to bring you strength and comfort. Your journey of transformation will start with the prayer of faith and pledge of commitment to DSDP.
PRAYER OF FAITH: Heavenly Father we ask you to give us understanding of your Holy Word, and the ability to receive it and store it in our hearts. We ask you to guide us in your purpose for our lives and to protect us from all evil. We ask for strength and endurance and to be rooted in your Holy word when trouble and persecution come. Let not the worries and deceitfulness of this life make our lives unfruitful. But instead fill us with the fruit of your joy, peace, wisdom and understanding in the days to come. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
MY PLEDGE: I accept the responsibility of making a commitment to The Divine Strength Diet Plan or the (DSDP). I am aware that it may require me to change spiritually, physically, mentally, and chemically (my diet). But my commitment is to seek God, ask for help, and to try and do my very BEST! If I choose to work with a dietician, nutritionist, fitness/advisors and or personal trainer while I am on the DSDP I understand that it is my responsibility to inform them of any pre-existing medical conditions.

CHAPTER 1:
INVITING GOD TO DINNER AND THE GYM
Someone once disdainfully told me, God should stay in church where He belongs and He doesn’t need to be in my gym nor be involved in my diet.
If I had listened to that someone, I wouldn’t be the happy, healthy person I am today. Instead, I miraculously discovered that by including God’s principles in my personal health plan. I achieved the balance in my life I was meant to achieve, and I became a different person. All of us have gone through trials and tribulations, having our faith tested along the way. But, I can tell you that God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is always with us; yes, even in our aerobic, yoga, and Pilates classes or even while we're weight training. After all, the most balanced human being I believe who ever lived was Jesus, God’s son.
You can discover, like I did, a happier, more energetic human being deep inside you just waiting to emerge. The Divine Strength Diet Plan is a wholistic approach to weight loss and achieving optimal health and it is the key that can release your true potential. I spell the word holistic, wholistic, because God showed me that originally it was spelled this way but over time the w
was dropped from it. The word wholistic means one or whole. You will discover what this word truly means throughout this book. The DSDP is based on the sound biblical principles outlined in this book, and it is the menu that I believe God has prepared for us. By adhering to it you can expect to be transformed physically, mentally, chemically and spiritually. The DSDP will educate, guide, and encourage you to reach your weight loss goals, change your body composition, and most of all help you achieve balance in your spirit, body, mind, and body chemistry.
WHO AM I?
I'm not who I used to be. I've worked in the fitness industry since 1987 and I've been a professional personal trainer since I was twenty-two. However, one night in 1997 my life changed forever. I was invited to attend a Christian conference with a friend at a local church here in Austin, Texas. I didn’t know it at the time, but God was taking me to a new level spiritually. Just like many of us, I had grown up in a Christian religion, confirmed and even married in the church. I knew of Jesus, but I didn’t know Jesus. At the conference God healed me of a hiatal hernia;
