I am a stay at home mommy of two beautiful children. A five year old boy John and a 19 month old girl Holly. They are my world. Then there’s my knitting addiction (self explanatory) ;) or is it a yarn addiction? I haven’t quite worked through this question and probably never will.

33 Cup Cuddler Knitting Patterns - Kara Mayfield
Introduction
I began learning how to knit one blistering Indian Summer in Sacramento, California, with my best friend Piper. I was 15 years old. With no pool, no money, and no ride, we decided to rummage through some of my mom’s old craft boxes she had stashed in her closet, while in the frosty cool comfort of central air conditioning. We found a few balls of soft baby yarn, several pairs of long, clumsy, metal knitting needles, and a knitting guide. To us, it was a treasure trove! After a lot of peering down at pictures and attempting to reproduce their illustrations, we were clicking away with our new found sticks and string. Slowly but surely, we were knitting our first doll blankets. And that’s where it all started for me. Little did I know at the time that this event would turn into a passion for design as well as a venture to write my very own book! Me? Write a book? I never would have thought it. I now live in Carmichael, California, where I work and play with my wonderful, loving husband of 7 years and two beautiful children ages 5 and 2.
Through the years, I’ve enjoyed knitting an array of items, some in failure, most in delightful success. From blankets to sweaters, socks to mittens, dish cloths to scarves, hats to handbags, even dresses. I taught knitting classes at a local craft store and at a local parks and recreation center. I was also fortunate to work in a charming little yarn shop in Carmichael for several years where I expanded my knowledge of the craft as well as shared with others what I already knew.
The idea of writing a book featuring a compilation of quick knit projects, especially one that focuses on turning frequently unused leftover yarn into classic gifts and decorative accessories that reflect the sign of our times was very exciting to me. So, with the encouragement of family and friends, I decided to do it.
I designed each quick knit Cup Cuddler pattern to fit small, medium, and large size coffee cups. If you see only one number of cast-on stitches at the start of the pattern, then that particular design will fit most size cups. The majority of the patterns in this collection are seamless because I designed them to be knit
