About this ebook

What if you could correct your past mistakes?

Alex Peak is a normal high school student who messes up big time. When he's taken to the police station, he suddenly blacks out in a cell.
The odd part is that he comes to in his kitchen at the exact time he blacked out. And he hasn't been to the police station that day. As Alex finds out about his new power with the help of his friend Ben, he sees an opportunity to change the world for the better. But nothing, not even science-bending abilities, can prepare him for what happens next.

Embark on a science fiction novel all-too-real as Alex fights petty crime, the laws of physics, and destiny in an action-packed story that contains surprises at every corner. Being a Shifter can be useful sometimes, but some situations can lead to a dead end...

    Prologue

This is not a diary or a journal. This is a record for anyone who comes after me. There were, are, and will be thousands of millions of copies of it, but this is the only one you will ever find.

This book only exists in case I die. If you’re reading this, I’m probably dead. If I’m not, I’m going to want this back. I'll also want to find a way to keep you quiet. I suggest you find me before I find you.

    Chapter 1

The kid was unconscious on the pavement.

My fist was covered in his blood.

I was in some serious trouble.

Ten minutes earlier, it had been a normal Tuesday. I had been talking with a few other members of the football team. Walking down the high school hallway, we were the kings. Sure, everyone idolized the quarterback, but a few girls had realized just how important a running back was for the team.

We walked out to one of the outdoor lunch tables and set our trays down. A short kid, probably around five foot one, walked over to our table. He had an ‘I ♥ Nebraska’ T-shirt on.

Hey guys, he yelled over the noise of a few boys. Perhaps I could sit here today?

Yeah, said the quarterback through a mouthful of taco. He was the typical quarterback: tall, thin, strong arms, cocky, and relying on other people to make him look good. He was long experienced at getting his voice over the rest of the team. If you stop talking so smart, nerd.

I’ll talk how I want, Rob. The kid paused as the signs of a mental civil war flashed across his face. You know what, he finally said, I don’t need losers like you. With that, he turned and left.

Seeing him sit at a table by himself, Rob said, Someone go and beat him up. Ryan?

Ryan, an offensive lineman and the biggest guy at the table, started to get up, but thought better and sat back down. Naw, man. I beat up one more kid, I can’t play football. What about Alex?
